Their scared of apostates but they should be scared of themselves, they personally helped me to wake up. I was a a DC in Florida a couple years ago and one of the GB was giving a talk and admitted that 1975 was a big deal. He said that most in Bethel believed the end was in 1975 and he claimed that he did not because of the scripture about not knowing the day or the hour. After that talk then I new 1975 was a bigger issue then i had been told, so my research began thanks to the GB.

All Things Fulffilled In The1st Century
by maccauk11 inall things were fulfilled in the 1st century.it was obvious the messiah was talking to the people in that generation not a generation 2000 years later.. christianity has for 2000 years placed itself in the shoes of those 1st century beleivers and think all things pertainott hem today.when infact none of it does.
the prohecise of the messiah cmae true in the 1st century including revelation which is symbolic, metaphorical apocolyptic language showing all tha thad been done .

your wife is just toughie because she knows your views are not in-line with the ORG. My wife and I don't even talk about spiritual things right now. She doesn't want to hear anything that's out of line from the Org and i don't want to tell her because she will probably just pass it along to and elder.

Lurkers - Not even a 5 min visit from Elder or Sister
by *lost* inbeen oooh, 4 months now, nothing, nada, zip, like i never even existed.. no one knows i am awakened, etc... so as far as they concerned i'm still in wt land.. starting missing meetings as i was ill with a virus, knocked me out physically.
the rest is history, as they say.. .
so much for the love that is preached.

Lost it been about the same time for me, I started just missing midweek meetings but also grew some chin hair small clean cut goatee just to see the reaction from the friends. The lack of really love has become so obvious, and yes no one has said or done a thing except one elder. Its all pretty obvious that they live in a mind bubble and if any one acts differently they repel out of fear for themselves and their mind think. For what would they do if they were wrong or what they are taught is wrong, I think their all just scared.

It was all Rutherford, he had to do something about the numbers being more then 144k but did not like the newbies. Thats why he called them Jonadabs and they could not get baptised at first or go to the memorial celebration. He started the two class system, he said that the jonadabs were inferior. Read his Vindication 3 book.

other jws who have unfriended me at least called me names (apostate) and told me they were unfriending me, but they were no loss.
but someone who's been your friend since you were 13...and no explanation...i'd think 20 years- 20 years!

I'm just a fader, but with my wife telling a few of her friends about my new understandings and the elders also telling thier wifes about what they have discussed with me, I too have been getting wierd looks and part shunning (i also grew a gotee) Any way at every shance i get i mention how loving Jesus was and how he even said to love your enemy. Use the truth of the bible and throw it back at them.

if one just fades doesn't it just look like to your kids that you have just become spiritually weak?
i mean aren't they my kids just going to ask their mother why i'm not going in time, and that will give her a chance to explain things the way she wants?
