Excuses for God

i am amazed at how people will go to extreme stretches of logic to explain or justify the supposed actions of their god (lower case g intentional, no upper case deserved).

i have seen people with wonderful bullshit detectors in normal life, throw all of that ability away in order to retain their hope of a creator who cares for them.

i am agnostic, certainly not atheistic, since i think atheism is not provable.

whether at a jc or just in an average elder shepherding call.

most people who have confronted a jc, have tried to explain to the elders about what they know of the org but the incriminating questions always come up.. when confronted with the question, do you still believe the gb is the f&ds?

I think most elders run away from anyone that's showing signs of apostate thinking. They are delusional and don't want the apostate to mess with thier delusion. We scare them. I pointed out to two elders at my house both real nice guys some things about how the JW's exalt themselves and judge other Christians even pointed out some scriptures by Jesus saying not to be like this and they just got big eyed and the lead elder got up and said something about me trying to teach him something and proclaimed that were now going to have a jc.

Well one, nothing I said was out side the bounds of the bible and even found a old WT backing up mostly what I was getting at, so I wasn't trying to teach him anything contrary. In the end I realized they like to think of themselves special in the eyes of god. Anything that screws with that delusion and they run.

job 41:1-26. jehovah is straight up talking to job about a fire-breathing dragon in this passage.

it was surreal to hear this read without as much as a raised eyebrow in the audience.. here it is: (mind you this is almighty god talking one-on-one with job).

Crocodile my ass, this story is about the beast that Baal fights while at war with the sea god Yamm. Another story in the bible the Dragon is called Rahab. In the Babylonian story of creation Marduk fights against the mother goddess and Dragon named Tiamat.

like the english family that took their little kids to the jungles of ecuador, and the australians that took their little ones to norfolk island where hardly anyone lives, and they are the only children in a congregation of 11 publishers?

They want to be like Jehovah he took his children the promise land filled with milk and honey. A high desert better known as Judea where much of nothing grows and they had to ranch animals and sell them for other foods to eat. Not much water either.

Experts don't know exactly when but the Egyptians watching the star Sirius were able to make the change as early as 2700 BC or possibly as late as about 1100 BC. They the Egyptians gave the credit to thier god of knowledge Thoth. Now on the other hand the Israelites which supposedly lived in Egypt for a few hundred year never found out about this calendar and Moses who was supposedly taught all the ways of Egypt also didn't seem to know. What about Jehovah, why would he not tell his people about this more accurate way of keeping time? Maybe he's not as smart as the god Thoth. What about the new testament, during the time of Jesus they still seem to be stuck on the lunar calendar even though the Romans had already switched? Jesus told the writer of revelations he would return very soon five times in the last chapter. Maybe why he hasn't shown is because he and his father have gotten thier calendars mixed up.

I was able to wake up a friend but he was already going threw marriage problems and the elders weren't treating him well either. It seems to me that people need to go through something emotional first to start the proccess.

Can a small child be taken out of state without the other parents permission?

I know if divorced I think the parent that doesn't want the child to go can call police and report child ubducted by other parent but not sure in this situation.
