I'm getting baptized
by BlackWolf ini know i've started similar topics before but this time i'm serious.
my parents have been constantly pressuring me and after yesterday's watchtower study they asked me if i was going to be baptized this summer... and i said yes.
i probably should have thought about it more before making a final decision, but they're pretty much forcing me to do it anyway.

Are you dAd or dfd? The reason I ask is it seems to be about 50 % of jws that shun just faded JW's family members may be less. -

45 Minute Bethel Video about Changes (downsizing) at Watchtower
by OnTheWayOut ini don't see this posted elsewhere, and i don't have the links besides this facebook one.. but here is a 45-minute long bethel talk about the changes at bethel including addressing the hard feelings of people who were given the axe.
basically, everything must change.
we gave remaining bethelites saturday off to do our bidding in "the field" and we give bethelites over 70 an extra day a week off (if you can find any such bethelites).

I don't know if your a bible believer or not but I think that if your not blowing holes in The bible to help wake someone up is easier then blowing holes in thier cult. Many have said here over the years that attacking the cult doesn't do much good they have a defence for this and it kicks in when you say something. The bible on the other hand is a different matter. Their unprepared for an attack on it. They have always been taught that it gods book and nothing is wrong with it. As soon as you show them some things that are wrong in the book your destroying thier foundation thier cult is built on. In time the whole thing may come down and thier cult no longer had a leg to stand on.
This is a bit how I did it with my friend I would say things in rebuttal about how Jesus wouldn't do this or that when he complained about the elders or something but the rest of the time I would show a point in the bible to show how screwed up it is. Now he often says how stupid people are to live thier lives based on a book written 2000 years ago.

what ever you do be proactive, to many people in this forum seem to be of the attitude of just let things be you can't get people out of the cult unless something wakes them up. I disagree with this approach the cult is getting better at trying to keep ones in. Thier using video and other tools thier encouraging the whole congregations to take the little ones under thier wings and thier having MS take the boys and study with them and a Pioneer sisters to take the girls. While your alone in the fight the mate had the whole congregation. They see you as a threat to the lives of your kids. So if your not proactive you may loose them all and even if one does leave they may have all sorts of problems do to the cult.

Pm me if you have a specific question about the bible and how to blow up thier teaching. There also plenty of threads here on this forum too. When I woke up I spent 2 years making sure I had a good understanding of what the bible really says to I could have the tools needs to not be blind sided like you were over the Christmas topic. Now I can destroy most of thier teaching using just a bible even thier bible. -

I was able to wake up a friend but I had a a lot of help. His wife had gotten dfd for mutiple acts of the big no no and he wasn't in the mood to go to many meetings. I at first had asked him a question that apparently set off alarms bells and so I had to step lightly. In time though I would just make small comments or a rebuttal to things he said, planting seeds. The fact that because he was missing meetings one of his elders came by and accused him of doing something wrong really helped me. I would just bring up little things from the bible showing how what they were doing was wrong and the scales soon fell off his eyes. Then I was able to show him more stuff from the bible showing how screwed up it is.
I think what had to be is the table set first by someone going through something that snapps them from thier delusion. Then one can introduce a new thought and the person is more receptive. You may ask your sister some probing questions about how she feels about being dfd and maybe bring up that it's really the husbands fault. Use emotion always if you can. Then if she's opens up you can insert the idea that Jesus would have not dfd you he was all about love forgiveness compassion etc. See where this takes you. If this works push the emotional thoughts some more planting seeds of doubt but don't push to hard. Let her open up and respond only a little to her thoughts. In time this may lead to you being able to share more.
Since you've been away from the cult you can Also maybe ask some questions and follow with a question like but I thought Jesus said this Or the bible said that. Again play on her emotions and stay in how she feels about things stay away from arguing over logical points or facts bring those up later when the door is open more.

This generation, Jerusalem, spiritual Jerusalem but what about Judea?
by Crazyguy inin the book of luke chapter 21 it's writings are very similar to that of matthew where jesus is talking about the end and "this generation" .
he mentions jerusalem being surrounded and to flee.
in modern times bible believers believe this generation is about thier generation and jerusalem is refuring to spiritual jerusalem and they point to scriptures in the book of revelations to make the point.

I wonder if you could delay it by saying you want to read the bible first?
