Many JWs while waking up from the cult decide to research not only the cult and its history but also the Bible and its validity. Then many decide that the Bible is not a special book after all and become agnostics or atheist.

Why do some Jehovah's Witnesses choose to be atheist or agnostic?
by Cassaruby in"traumatic as the initial transition may be, it can lead to the development of a truly personal relationship with these two greatest friends [the father and the son] .
.. "whatever sense of 'belonging' that membership in some religious system may create, it can never compare with the power and beauty and strengthening benefit of the intimate personal relationship the scripture presents .
from reading joseph campbell i've come to understand that there are functions to religion or mythology.

Not a sympathizer
by Richard Oliver ini think everyone here is under the impression that i am a watchtower sympathizer, i am not.
i just like facts and when people say things, which are their opinions but that facts point out as not being true, than that is when i get so motivated to make a comment.
i have read posts here, listened to six screens and read jwsurvey and seen things that people say, which are opinion, but pass them off as fact.. there are legitimate things that people on here and former jws have concerns over without manipulating what is said or trying to pass off opinion as a fact.

Here are some facts, there's overwhelming evidence that there was no global flood 4480 years ago. Fact the Bible has in it several prophecies that didn't come true. I too like facts that's why I'm no longer a bible believer!

An Obvious Omission in the J.W.'s Good News!
by The Searcher inas baptized or unbaptised witnesses, no one ever discussed or even mentioned (at least in my jw experience) this topic: .
"we are preaching about the good news of the kingdom.
why do we preach about only one hope - living on earth?
-
Crazyguy
No because the good news is actually all about Jesus the messiah just check 1 Corinthians chapter 15 and Galatians 1.
Also the actual Greek texts says they will reign on earth and only as priests but that really of no importance because that's not what the good news of the kingdom is about.

"Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth."
by pale.emperor innow that im not longer a jw this verse puzzles me.
being born and raised a witness, this verse confirmed to me that jesus was talking about a paradise on earth.
but now that everything the witnesses taught is 99.99% incorrect can somone explain what he was getting at here?
-
Crazyguy
I read somewhere that the New Testament was a retelling of the old, so inherit the land in psalms became the same in the New Testament then the word was changed to earth both in Mathew and revelations chapter 5 . Also most of the sermon on the mount can be found in the book of Enoch written before Jesus if there was one was born

Some apostates are coming across as crazed psychopaths
by jambon1 ini'm not sure whether or not my view on this is correct so please leave your input.
in recent months i've been viewing youtube videos.
again, it might just be my view but there has been an increased amount of random people grabbing a camera and doing vlogs.

Aron-Ra: Meteorology and the Flood
by schnell ina few days ago, aron-ra posted a new video commencing what he promises to be a new series debunking the noachian flood.
he did this despite the fact that every adult should know it didn't happen, and yet many do.. i'd like to remind everyone what the insight book says: .
the genesis account of creation tells how on the second “day” jehovah made an expanse about the earth, and this expanse (called “heaven”) formed a division between the waters below it, that is, the oceans, and the waters above it.

800,000 years of ice core samples from Antarctica and 150,000 years from Greenland, no evidence of a global flood! According to the Bible timeline great pyramid at Giza should show evidence of being covered over by water for a year, there is none.

To love Jehovah more than friends and family.
by schnell inwhen i was a believer, i endorsed this idea too.
i commented with things like "love jehovah more than your mate" or "love jehovah more than your friends".. it didn't occur to me as i was saying it that jehovah is an idea.
this god concept is an idea that should really pass scrutiny if you're supposed to love it more than anything else.. at best, this means that jehovah is real and you have to love jehovah more than the people in your life, no matter the despicable things he is said to have done, condoned and endorsed in his holy writ.

That's one of the things that really pushed me down the rabbit hole. The blood doctrine and what a medical person said during a meeting at the hospital got me thinking and doing research. It was horrible to realize that people would kill themselves or family members in the name of a god and a misteaching of an issue. People are so blind and can be led to do just about anything if thier told god said to do it.

Beelzebub the forefather of JW.org.
by James Mixon inno other individual has been responsible for creating such a large number of none believers.
people may change faith but they still believe in god but when "most" leave jw's, oh boy they become down right disrespectful of jehovah...so a great game plan by satan, he's a tricky devil.
to be known as the number one religion that turn folks away from god, that is saying something about your faith.....lol.

Years of research is what made me an atheist, the JW religion just pushed me to actually do the research.
