The earliest uses of the name or spelling was just three letters. A similar name was used for the Egyptian moon god and the Assyrian high god. Since the Canaanites were so heavily influenced by the Egyptians many believe thier god EL was the same as one of the gods of Egypt. Solomon's (which means son of Amon) temple looks remarkabley like some of those built in Egypt.

'Asking Questions' & JC's
by Tallon inon another forum, a user posted that their partner is being hauled before a jc for asking questions and, that the jc will go ahead regardless if in attendance or not.. the post does not say what questions were being asked.
another user responded with - possibly viewed as 'brazen conduct'.
here is the link to jw.org - brazen conduct: https://www.jw.org/en/publications/books/bible-glossary/brazen-conduct/.

Oh yeah there's a WT from the 80s that says even thinking something contrary or questioning in your mind is apostasy. They I think are cracking down hoping to stop the tide of those waking up and leaving. -

Watchtower & Guns
by freemindfade inapparently jehalapeno isn't a 2nd amendment supporter either.... .
july 17 questions from readers.... the way this part is worded screams cult to me, i was quite amused.. how a christian chooses to protect himself, his family, or his possessions is, of course, largely a personal matter, as is his choice of employment.. geee!
thanks watchtower for allowing me to "largely chose my own employment" you are a generous cult lol.

The Watchtower are Right About Blood...
by cofty in... but, they fail to take note of one important detail.. i believe that if we are going to have any chance of reasoning with a jw about blood, this is the place we need to begin.. don't try to convince them that it was only a dietary law.
it wasn't, and they will never go along with it.. don't tell them that saving a life is more important than obeying a law, even a seemingly trivial one.
they take pride in obedience.

Yes that's a good one , take a bath after a transfusion. Except we both know the blood used is not from a dead animal or dead person so none of this even applies! Oh and I can answer your underline question. It's not the blood that's sacred but the life that you took!!!! Winner winner chicken dinner . Whats my prize , what's my prize.

Leviticus 17 does contradict Deuteronomy I believe because Deuteronomy is way to vague.
Leviticus makes it clear in chapter 17 that draining the blood by a hunter or anyone that kills the animal was to do with the life of the animal. Out of respect for the animals life you took your to drain the blood. It says life three times. It was ok to eat a road kill animal and its blood because you didn't take its life. Since you didn't kill it you would only be unclean until evening.

Aren't you a bit amazed that the WTS/JWS is still around ?
by Finkelstein ini know i am, to me its a bit of a peculiar anomaly that the wts is still around and functioning in reflection of its decades and now complete century that the wts has been bullshitting to people .
organizations like the church of god have shrunk dramatically from its heyday of the 1980's, this too was another organization that spread and grew by publishing its own magazine proclaiming a armageddon soon doctrine and its main publication was called " the truth " .
i'm guessing some of this has to do with the fact that people who get lured into this cult aren't aware of its past, its doctrines, the people who started it and so forth.

Yeah , after the "this generation will by no means pass away " bull shit didn't pan out , you would of thought a huge exodus would of taken place. Even more so I think with 1975 because it was so obvious! The lights should have been turned out January 1, 1976

I have a Ruger lc9s and a shot gun, but thinking of getting rifles. I want an assault rifles but one big enough to hunt. AK47 American made by century arms looks good and can be baught for about $600. Ar10 would be nice but more money. Scar17 would be awesome but way more money.
I'm just thinking if the shit hits the fan one should be prepared.
