  i'm doing my third uni unit in a 24-unit bachelors degree (economics).

  the exam is tonight, and i'm confident i'm going to fail.

  this isn't nerves or false modesty, i just know i haven't covered the material, and haven't consolidated those parts i did cover.

  DOES MONEY BUY HAPPINESS?

  i think most of us were probably trained to believe that money can't buy happiness, but is that really true?

  i know i'd be a hell of a lot happier with more money....what about you?

  of course, there are the big examples we all know of---people who had lots of money, fame, but they weren't happy.

  One goshdarn thing is for sure losing money doesn't make me happy - so in turn I'll bet finding money does.
  
  I'll be rich or poor you will find losing money makes you very unhappy. So the inverse is likely to be true.

  I'm dating a JW, and need some advice!

  i'm new here, and have read a lot of topics here.

  this site has been very helpful to me in the short time i have been here.. what has drawn me here is the fact that i have been dating an active jw guy for about 9 months now (i was raised catholic, but am currently searching for a faith that i feel is right..i have yet to find it).

  we are very much in love, but our differences in beliefs have caused a lot of problems.

  You should know that the religion is based on dates to a degree. For instance they believe, because they are taught that the Faithful and Discrete Slave were "selected" in 1919 by Jesus. But somehow they didn't realize this until 1929. For that decade they taught that Jesus arrived in 1874 to take rule in heaven. They taught that this happened "beyond any doubt".

  and this person said that gays are not welcome here and this is not what this board was really about.

  i told them that this is only one part of the crap that the wts did to people and that we are people too.

  my cat died today... i need consoling...

  this is the guy that sat on my razor blades the one time i was thinking of cutting myself... this is the guy that everytime my dad beat me, would come to my room and lay with me... this is the guy that one time jumped into the bathtub with me while i was crying after a brutal beating, the cat hated water... this is a cat that was more family to me than my own father and mother combined... this was my best friend... .

  today i had to do the hardest thing i ever did, i had to choose to have him put down... and as he fought the vet, and tried to bite her, i put my hand on his head, and he stopped struggling... and as they put the last needle into his leg, he purred until he died... the vet says she has never seen that before... this was my best friend and i had to kill him... fuck, im a baby, but i miss him soooo much.

  Now Linda is ill!!

  first it was her mum in hospital, then it was me, just for a night, though i've been ordered to rest and given 6 weeks off work, and now linda (fullofdoubtnow) is ill. she has a really bad bout of flu, which started yesterday, and i expect she'll be in bed for a few days.

  i just fed her some soup, which is about all she can manage at the moment, and she's gone back to sleep now.

  she sends her love to everyone on the board,i expect she will be posting again in a few days, but for now, she's confined to bed..

  Bush fighting for the cause of Freedom?

  i have read some of bush's talks about fighting for freedom.

  in essence i think the term freedom as used by the president has a very very narrow application namely: democracy verses dictatorship.. do you think that bush's use of the word freedom as his reasons for invading another country, a acurate term or just more government propaganda?.

  I've been thinking of all the people who are dead that would not have been if this war never started.
