A lot of jws marry when they're young, and I think it's related to the fact that the need for sexual release is at a peak and they can't indulge in fornication and all that jazz. I have no case studies in hand to show that they tend to marry young in comparison to the general population. But I have seen stats that show that people tend to marry later these days. But jws seem to buck that trend, as far as I can tell.

You mean to tell me, normal people don't get married at 17 or 18?
by free2beme inas a witness, most if not all of my friends were married by 18, with many woman married by 17. it was so normal, that when i left the religion and met all these people married in their 20's and later, that it seemed like they were starting late.
i actually was a late person in getting married, i was 23. i remember being one of the few people my age in the congregation, not married yet.
i actually remember thinking, where am i going to find someone to marry, that is not yet taken.

It may well be that he's going back to the bondage sites but not to seek thrills with someone else. Whatever the case, since you two have already been through this in a similar way before, it would seem like a continuation of the same subject and not some new suspicion - so he might well be open to a frank, open talk without a need for spying.
Porn and certain fetsihes have a very powerful effect, and it's not very surprising that he's checking out such material again. But depending on what kind of guy he is, taking the next step and actually practicing bondage with another woman may be more than he's really intent on doing, especially since he got busted by you last time. But since I can't speak to your hubby's personality or character, I'm just guessing.

Tough one els. I can't help you on the technology end. How about just asking him? And what's he going to say in reply..."yeah, honey, I'm cheating"? Of course not, but would the way he reacted give you some clear indication? If it were me, I'd have that deer-in-the-headlights look, and my wife would know. But that's just me....not a good liar. Tough situation.

Fine movie. The title could well have been "Everyone's A Racist" because it seemed everyone in the movie was to some extent.

The CO says --

even in the apostles day there was a a sense of urgency

Playing the "sense of urgency" card yet again. The sad thing is how few jws see through this sorry attempt at keeping them in line.

Potential converts or inactive and disfellowshipped JWs from the past 30 years who no longer attend meetings any other time or new people? ; What is your experience?
O Blonde One, another fine review. In answer to your question - In my experience, it was a combination of all of the above, namely df'd, inactive, and some potential converts, very few of whom converted. In fact, over the years such visitors to the Memorial were often criticized in conversations between fellow jws, being referred to in derogatory terms because they attended only one meeting per year. There was even a joke circulated about such people being like those in Christendom who showed up only at Christmas and/or Easter services.

I watched the 40 Year-Old Virgin last week on DVD. After watching that chest waxing, I figure it's not worth the pain, because I've contemplated getting some upper-body waxing done.
LDH - you must be a porn star. And Brooke, since you're into pain, maybe you're a different kind of porn star. Whatever the case, I am now officially in love with both of you.

What do you swear on?
by Gretchen956 ini was watching a tv program where someone was swearing an oath to tell the truth and nothing but the truth, their hand on the bible.
now i know that there are a lot of christians here, and that wouldn't be a problem for them.
but what about the rest of you?

I swear on a stack of bibles. For convenience, I usually use a short stack, consisting of three. When I'm hungry for some big swearing, I up it to five. Syrup is a must.

WTS: NO MORE BOUND VOLUMES AFTER THIS YEAR!
by Mary ini just found out today (from my sister) that crooklyn will not be making any more bound volumes of the watchtower or awake magazines after this year------instead, they're all going to be on audio tape only.
she does not have a computer so i generously
i think this could very well be yet another tactic of the gb trying to keep a lid on their "embarassing" quotes of yesterday.

It seems logical to me that they'd discontinue the bound volume printing, and not from some sinister standpoint necessarily.
They'll save $$$ on paper, etc. The volumes are large and unwieldy and likely expensive to ship. Plus, the jws obtaining them were likely not donating enough to offset the cost. Most jws are pretty bad at donating to cover the expenses of the stuff they order.
