Curiosity killed the cat.
by James Mixon indon't you think with all the talk about apostate sites, this is having a reverse.
effect for the rf.
if i was a jw today i would wonder what are all the lies these people are saying.. and i would try defending their truth on these sites, but in each case those that come here.

I would click on the apostate web sites and didn't care. That's what woke me up. I wanted the truth no matter what the cost. That's what made me study with the Witnesses in the beginning and that's what made me wake up in the end. -

What more do they need to see?
by stuckinarut2 inso bethelites are being decreased...bethel homes even sold off.... special pioneers no longer being funded.. magazines getting smaller and published less frequently.. building work stopping or being reduced.. no large conventions and renting of venues.. etc.... so, money is not coming in anymore to cover the "expenses"??.
didnt the first ever watchtower said that when this occurs, it would be evidence of god no longer blessing the activity....
oh, and throughout the years, we have constantly been told that the "growth of the org and the projects such as buildings and contributions" etc were evidence of gods blessing.... .

Close. That Watchtower said if they didn't have the money to print the WT any more then it would be evidence of Jah not blessing. But they still print the stinking thing. But you're close man, real close. -

Only 144,000 saved in 2000 years?
by LevelThePlayingField inso i phoned an elder in the cong and asked him: "when did the calling for the great crowd start, was it 1935?
he said, "no, i think i remember a convention talk about 1950.
" so anyway, i said, "so then let's say in the 20th century right?

This takes the cake
by Sour Grapes intoday during the public talk the speaker said that satan was behind the new modern phones, which are like mini computers, so that the world would have easy access to pornography..

It's funny that elder said that because the MS who reads the WT reads it from his smart phone right up on stage! -

So I phoned an elder in the cong and asked him: "When did the calling for the great crowd start, was it 1935? He said, "No, I think I remember a convention talk about 1950." So anyway, I said, "So then let's say in the 20th century right? And so if 8 million plus people have gotten the truth in this last century and prior to that it was the heavenly calling, then why for almost 2000 years was there only 144,000 people that found God's favor?"
He said, "I don't have an answer for that." And then went on to try to explain away about how the population now is so much more than it was way back then, and "if fact if you consider" all the inventions and blah, blah...
I brought him right back to the original argument and asked him again, "So you mean to tell me then, of the countless millions and millions of people that lived that only a 100,000 plus people found God's favor in 2000 years but in the last 100 years 8 million did? How are we to understand that?"
He said, "Some things you just have to take on faith. And you know these questions you have, sometimes we don't need to ask all these, well, we don't need to know all these questions or answers to all these questions do we? Really, if you think about it, there's a lot of things that we don't know, and we just accept them and wait for the Slave to clarify them"...and I can't recall everything of his rant after that.
But I think this is a good questions to pose to Jdubs out there. They won't know how to answer either, or will they.

We missed you at the meetings
by punkofnice ina vomit inducing comment.. i asked why do they have to specify 'meetings'?
they never miss us in tesco or the showcase cinema bar.. in their defence, a friend of mine said: 'that's because the meeting is where they normally would see you.'.
well, if they want to see you they can arrange a meal out or something.

I've actually had this said to me, along time ago when I missed a few meetings. My thought deep inside was that you really don't miss "me", you really don't know "me" because all you know is "me" at the meetings and that's it!
You don't know me at home. You don't know me at work or at the bowling alley. You just know me at the meetings, pretty shallow!
