That's incredibly funny and infuriating at the same time. I'm still in (because of emotional blackmail) but I've been fortunate enough at most of my best friends that I grew up with in the borg woke up to the TTAT at almost the same exact time as me, on their own. So, now we gather at the hall or conventions and talk shit about the WT. It's quite fun.

Oh Irony of ironies: Googling for a problem caused by the WT and getting a solution from JW.org :-(
by BluePill2 ini have to share this with you.. after leaving the borg i had to concentrate to solve so many personal problems (financial, child custody, etc.
) that it left me with a poor social life.
i just didn't have the nerve/time to make new friends.

What's "THE END" going to look like?
by Coded Logic inokay, so its no secret that many of us are hoping to see the downfall of the wtbts (or at least a mass exodous of jws away from them anyway).
i was wondering if you had any thoughts on what this might look like?.
we all know that most every jw has their doubts, large and small, but is afraid to speak due to the illusion of unanimity and self censorship .

Complete end will never happen. I belong to a group of futurists. With the tech advanced due in the next decade, they will encounter more difficulty. More of the planet will have internet access, controversial stem cell and gene therapies going mainstream, Armagheddon still not coming, better scientifically educated masses and more information available, transhumanism, etc, will all make it incresingly hard to maintain membership in the Western World. However, poor, ignorant, gullible people in third world countries? Those would buy anything. Plus, even if the WT corp would lose everything and everyone, big deal, they'd just rebrand themselves into a new religion and get new slaves. You know what they say, "there's a fool born every minute". Plus, I've noticed that a lot of people are just in for the social aspect. For them, it's more of a social club. A place where you get a chance at making many friends, being popular, social activities, etc. I could see this religion becoming mainly a lifestyle thing in the relatively near future.

Only 1 out of 6 JWs (and friends) visit the JW.ORG web site!
by StephaneLaliberte inin a 2013 article currently on jw.org (reference 1), the jws bragged about how their website is translated into 300 languages and that it reaches, according to alexa statistics, 890,000 unique users every day.. what about the monthly stats?
the site websitetrafficspy.com (reference 2), which draws its statistics from alexa, reports that there are an estimated 3.2 million unique visitors every month for jw.org.*.
since the 2013 memorial had an attendance of 19.2 million (reference 3), this could be understood as 1/6 of the jws and their friends visited the site on a monthly basis.. this is not unexpected as the internet itself is used only by 39% of the planet at this time (reference 4).. hence, the number of languages in which the website is translated does not offer any guaranty as to its information being accessed or even be accessible at all to most of the planets population.. .

It is a big deal. It's also hilarious how ineficient they are. A great bulk of the witness population lives in civilized countries (US, Europe, Asia) and has access to the internet. Yet, few seem to visit the website. I guess many in their ranks are old and are refusing to adapt to the new ways, especially considering how much they demonized the internet in the past two decades. The language translation thing for the WT is just about bragging rights. We have a website translated in 1000 languages, so the truth is reaching everyone on the planet, blah, blah, blah. I wonder how many of those languages are African languages, or in general from countries of the world were the people don't really have access to the internet. JW's are inneficient in the real world, and inneficient in the virtual world. It's all about bragging how much they preach, but without having anything substantial to show. Now, they're brainwashing everyone into worshipping the almighty JW.ORG.

by Coded Logic ini was baptized at the age of 11. like most of us, my commitment wasnt to honor god but rather i was gang pressed into the service of the wtbts.
and, at such a young age, it was impossible for me to appreciate the enormity of my actions.
honestly, how could i possibly have known any better?

I was 18, turning 19. At the time I was secretly an atheist for about a year, and I also knew about this website and others, and I was fully aware it was a cult. I did it because JW's were my world. My friends, my parents, basically almost everyone I had a personal relationship with was a JW. I held out for way too long and basically now everyone started shunning me. My parents were like, you're either with us or against us, my friends were the same.
I couldn't afford living on my own and had no option of getting away and I'm pretty sure I would have been homeless and lost everything if I hadn't done it. Well, I did it, without one ounce of sincerity. A few months later we moved in a remote area with few JW's and no kingdom hall for 70 miles. So, our family hasn't been to a KH from March. We only study once every few weeks or sometimes months (lol). My familiy's JWism basically involves going to the Memorial, a convention or two a year, a couple of KH visits and a once every few months a "family study". This allowed me to alienate my parents further from the cult and even express clear doubt about the existence of god. My mother reports fake time for me every month without me even asking her to do it (lolol). I can live a pretty normal life now and hopefully we'll slowly get as far away as possible from this twisted cult.

Persecution in Russia. Poland next.
by FadeToBlack inthe wife got back from the meeting last night and told me they watched some video from jw.org about persection in russia.
lots of discussion at the hall about poland being next after ukraine.
she told me she was not going to sign anything renouncing her faith even if she had to go to prison.

Poland is an EU state. The EU won't let it come to that.

- Well, I'd be damned. I'm a born in JW and never in a million years I'd thought I'd see this. From internet is evil to website worshipping in less than a decade. That tells you something about the power of cult brainwashing. This JW.ORG business is EVERYWHERE. Seriously. JWs don't mention Jesus, the Bible or Jokehova nearly as often as they mention JW.ORG. It's all they talk these days. I might be wrong but this is the only religion in the world that has a website as one of its pillars of worship. I think that even the guys that work at Facebook or Google don't love a website as much as JWs do. Look at them. It's hilarious. Probably the furthest anyone ever took worshipping a website in human history. Also, it's a damn ice cream truck or whatever this is, turned into a website propaganda machine. Way to anounce the world you're batshit crazy.

by BU2B inmy mentally in jw wife is trying to organize a "princess party" for my 4 year old daughter and her little cousins and friends.
she was looking at prices of a tent for the backyard party in case it rains.

Asking your daughter rent money for an object she wants to use (especially for a party of your granddaughter ) is seriously lame.

Deductive Reasoning - Topic "God is Evil / unjust / unloving / etc"
by objectivetruth inthe mosaic law says that an adulter will be put to death leviticus 20:10 "if a man commits adultery with another man's wife--with the wife of his neighbor--both the adulterer and the adulteress are to be put to death.".
david was under the mosaic law & david was a murderer and adulterer.
2 samuel 11:4 "so david sent messengers and took her, and she came to him, and he lay with her.

Okay guys, I wish I could have posted this earlier, but unfortunately, I didn't have the time. Anyway, as I've told you in my previous post, Thursday, before reacting the convention site we visited a family of "apostates" from a group which separated itselft from the borg but is still doing the same dumb old shit the borg did many decades ago. Anyway, now let's talk about the convention in itself. I can't remember much about the convention because I spent every single moment sitting next to a friend who doesn't buy the bullshit either. So during the entire convention we just sat there and just made fun of the hilariously ridiculous things the speakers were saying. Right from the start I've immediately noticed some things different from last year. Now we had a roof on the outside too (I wonder how the cheap bastard decided to finally invest the money in such a thing) but it was still pretty bad. Also, compared to last year, they've placed a screen outside too.
While in previous year we just had the convention title displayed on the big screen/s and on the stage, now we had the title with some picture of Anthony Morris The Turd and some other GB members. It looks like they're seriously pushing themselves more and more on the front covers of anything JW and creating more of a personality cult. On Friday there was a big speech about the fact that it's been 100 years since 1914, 100 years of the wonderful reign of Jesus. They compared Satan's world acomplishments with those of Jesus' kingdom. One hilarious statement that remained in my mind sounded something like: "Sure when it comes to technology Satan's world has acomplished many great things in the past century, but, they're NOTHING compared to the things acomplished by the followers of Jesus. Acomplishements like The Photodrama of Creation and the JW.Org website." This is when I burst out loud in laughter and had to pretend I was coughing just not get kicked out.
I mean seriously? Diseases have been eradicated, we perfected car and air travel, electrification, people have been into space, computing boomed, the internet, television, radio, immensely better healthcare, nuclear power, advanced architecture, robotics, etc - but this is NOTHING compared to a photodrama and a website. This is the most ridiculous thing said at this convention. Around the same time as this ridiculous talk there was also shown a short clip with a montage of the most awful things in the world (which is Satan's world, of course) and contrasted with a montage of a JW paradise utopia, all with emotional music on the background. Almost everyone started crying. It was both ridiculous and creepy at the same time. It was such obvious emotional manipulation but they fell for it in an instant.
Then there was the afternoon drama. Three in total this year. The Friday afternoon drama has about a guy taking a personal loan from a brother who was a bank manager(wonder how we got that job without a college degree). Of course they eventually argue, there's a lot of stupid bickering going on and everything works out fine in the end. It was uninspiring, barely had a plot and seemed to bore everyone. As it's customary in Romania, instead of going to a hotel like normal people, we were hosted by a family of brothers who live nearby the convention hall. So, at the end of the day, when finally the torture ended and we got to their house, we had the pleasure to be invited to attend with them their regular Friday meeting at the hall. Of course the pious members of my family were overjoyed by the invitation, and me being the driver had no excuse and had to attend. So oh joy, spending almost 12 hours of brainwashing in a single way. Anyway, there were also some good things about this convention, things I'll tell you about in a future post.
