If Ed Mcmahan were to show up at your door with 1 million dollars do you believe this would help you? Would your outlook change, and how?
1 million dollars would be a major windfall for me. It would help me in so many ways.
1. I wouldn't have to worry about gas prices anymore.
2. I could quit my job which is a big souce of stress for me right now.
3. I could move back to Kentucky, buy a house, and get re-involved with the community.
4. I could travel whenever I want, and take roadtrips to wherever I choose.
5. I could afford to visit Amanda and go ahead with a divorce if that is what we agree to.
6. I could spend more time with my family.
7. I could help my Mom get some independence away from grandpa.
They say money don't buy happiness, but if I could afford to do the above mentioned 7, then I would be much happier.
What would you do if you came into a million dollars?

by wings inno matter how much you want to avoid it...crying is necessary sometimes.
for me, i need help with it....too many distractions in my life.
i almost have to plan crying....so for me music aides in releasing emotion, helps me just be me for an interval of time.

Back when i lived in Florida, and was still trying to figure out the Armageddon scenario, and before I realized that the JW's were a lie, but new something was wrong. During this time period I was questioning the existence of God, and one song that always tore me up when hearing it was "dust in the wind". That verse "nothing lasts forever but the earth and stars" really tore me up, that plus the fact that I was 1000 miles away from home and separated from my wife.

Do the religious have higher morals than the non-religious?
by digderidoo inok, i was going to ask whether christians have higher morals, but i thought that other religions have the same kind of morals too.. when i look at those who sincerely follow their religion, i think that they do have a higher morality than those who do not follow some sort of scriptural guidelines.. this is not to say that the religious have a monopoly on morality, or to say that some religious people are not hypocritical in doing what they say, rather than what they do.
but as a whole it seems to me that someone with a religious upbringing has higher standards than someone without.. now some would say that higher standards or lower standards are defined by society, so therefore by whose definition do they have higher morals.
this would be a fair assumption.

politics, global warming, and gas prices
by Junction-Guy ini am so sick of hearing about global warning, i hope that no matter who gets elected, he is able to do something about these gas prices.
$52 to fill up my tank, not even a big car or an suv, and it wasn't even bone dry empty.. .
this is ridiculous !!.

It is interesting that you mention Bill Clinton. Back in 1998 gas was at an all time low, it got down to 68 cents a gallon, then what did Bill Clinton do in 1999. It is almost like he didn't want us to have cheap gas.
But yeah the republicans are just as much to blame as the dems too. The globalist repulicans that is. -

If you got less than expected, than you can either thank Nancy Pelosi, or be grateful for the fact that you make more money than the average American.

Oil won't run out in my lifetime.
Gas is a necessity, not a luxury. If the price of a Big Mac rises skyward, sure you don't have to buy it, but gas is a necessity. -

The politicians need to start doing more about gas prices and a little less worrying about global warming. -

Sorry to hear you are going through this hard time, let me ask you a question.
Since you were a young adult convert to the JW's and not a born in, do you think there may be something about your personality that being a JW changed?
In other words, did you have much better luck pre-JW days versus your now post JW days?
I have met you in person, and you seemed like a decent guy, you werent ugly or anything like that. I personally don't see why you are having such a difficult time, unless somehow being a JW lowered your self esteem and perhaps that may be playing a factor.
Since you live near a big city, there has to be numerous dating groups for singles, have you checked them all out, or just some?
I may be wrong, but you are an atheist now right, or at least an agnostic? Are there any dating venues there for atheists outside of bars?
women are definitely strange creatures, especially the secular ones, I will give you that. -
