  Shy Bladder and social anxiety disorders/for funchback and others

  hey gang, several days ago funchback had started a topic about men freezing up at urinals.

  i wanted so bad to reply back to that, however since im using an outdated browser at home im not able to post, only read.

  anyway what funchback was describing was bashful bladder,shy bladder, or otherwise known as paruresis.

Anyway what Funchback was describing was bashful bladder,shy bladder, or otherwise known as paruresis. I have had this condition to varying degrees ever since about 12 years old. It is thought that this is a prevalent condition, however most people are too embarassed to talk about it even with their doctors so this condition mainly goes undiagnosed, and there are even doctors who havent heard of this. So its no telling how many people out there have this. There is a discussion board that I frequent for people with shy bladder and there are people on there from all regions of the country. My state is extremely underrepresented on the board, and I went for several years before anyone local made contact with me-I face the same problem by the way with Ex-JW boards too;nobody is ever from my area. Well anyway i have mostly gotten over this disorder but am willing to talk with others who have it, and in some way be able to help them overcome this also. It is believed that this is a Social Anxiety disorder. Most people there have no idea what caused this, and theories abound. I for one believe that it is related to my childhood upbringing, We were never allowed to associate outside of the Kingdom Hall, we were never allowed to participate in any extracurricular activities, we were never allowed to join the boy scouts or go to summer camp. we were never allowed to date and even when we did finally, we had to have a chaperone. I believe this has left many former witnesses with a sense of isolation. Even in the congregations, no one trusted anybody, and you always had to be on the lookout for the Elders watching over your shoulders. It fostered a kind of paranoia that has taken years to get over. If anyone reading this has this condition and would like more information you may leave a message in my box.   FDS Sends Convention Delegates Packin'

  jehovah's witness across north america are being sternly counseled at this week's service meeting that they should pack lunches during the 2004 dictrict convention instead of leaving the site to eat elsewere or return with food.

  in a letter read during the announcements, members are told this is a "serious problem".

  reportedly jws have been banned from some convention locations because the venues want concession stand business if jws insist on bringing carry-out meals into the facility.

  I just had an idea- bring a small bbq grill and set it up on the steps of the convention centers, and take the biggest cooler you have and take blankets and spread out and have a picnic there on the convention floor at noon time. I was just telling my wife earlier how I remember when they had the food on a donation basis, boy those were the days. If they were still doing that, I might just put on a suit and tie and go load up on the free food-lol just kidding

  i work as a corrections officer for the sheriffs dept here in tennessee.

  im looking to trade patches with other leo's (law enfrocement officers).

  Cool Gadget, I have worked at my present job for nearly 5 years. I work in the disciplinary, medical and various other duties. Are you coming to Dallas? My wife, brother and I will be in Dallas. I am currently contemplating moving back to Ky and get a job with the new federal prison, however their hiring process is very stringent. anyway talk more later

  Meeting Up In Dallas

  this is to let everyone know, that we will be arriving late on thursday night, we will be driving down, straight through to texas.

  on friday morning we will walk around downtown dallas and see the sights and take my wife shopping.

  early friday afternoon we will lay around the pool.

  This is to let everyone know, that we will be arriving late on thursday night, we will be driving down, straight through to Texas. On friday morning we will walk around downtown Dallas and see the sights and take my wife shopping. Anybody that wants to go with us is welcome to. Early friday afternoon we will lay around the pool. Around 3pm I will head over to the Lobby and see who all is checking in. If I see a group of people checking in I might say out loud "anyone here for the Apostafest or JWD?. I would like to leave the hotel for Billy Bobs around 5 PM, that way we can see the Stockyards before dark. I may leave a message for anyone checking in to contact us and leave our room number or cell phone number, so we can meet up. I believe saturday morning we may go and walk around the west end historic district. We will definitely tour Southfork on sunday as we are headed out. I plan to be at Southfork by 9 am when it opens. We will be taking a scenic route home through the mountains of Oklahoma. By the way are there any Whataburger or Jack-In-the-Box restaurants within a mile or 2 of the hotel? I love their food, we dont have those here.

  5 years from now I hope to back in Kentucky living, maybe working at the new prison. I hope to rekindle all my old friendships (non- jw's of course). I hope to be debt free and maybe finally be ready to start a family. I hope to regain the happiness and self content I once had while living there( one of the few times in my turbulent life) and hopefully this depression will have lifted. I need to reclaim my life

You are a really nice person and fun to hang around with as I discovered in Nashville. Please dont quit the board as I have enjoyed reading your posts.I hope you will still be able to make it to Dallas as it wouldnt be the same without you. I will keep you in my prayer tonight.
