i thought of this question as i've been talking to different family members about the situation with my parents and grandmother.
i wondered if they'd get upset by me telling other non-jw family members what was going on.
i recently told a family member in coventry who i'm sure will end up telling my grandmother's sisters.
Well I think the average JW would probably hide the shunning from their family, and may even fake a smile or speak with the disfellowshipped family member, just to give the impression that they arent a family destroying religion, because they know it would stumble their "worldly" family members to find out the real truth. I have explained the shunning doctrine to several of my distant relatives, they were really surprised to find out it truly existed.

Once you are able to effectively disprove the JW Bible, then its a piece of cake from there, at least with the "interested" ones. Defd- There is no truth in your religion, there never was, it was a lie from the very beginning, and most people are able to withstand their lies, if they dont get involved in the first place. Once a person becomes a JW then its very hard for them to leave. I educate people in the first place so that they never find themselves in a position to be taken advantage of by the JW's. Once the NWT is disproved, then there whole doctrine crumbles to the ground.

Your "Truth" is backed by a flawed Bible-the NWT, once I point that out, then people can really see how you manipulate your doctrines, and the people will see it for what it really is. The rest of the people are either weak minded or gullible, and there will always be a few gullible types that will flock to your organization.

They are more than welcome to investigate, they will then discover the true nature of the JW religion. But most of them will leave it at that. They dont want to become JW's anyway, but I do encourage them to tell others that the WT Society is a destructive religion. I also explain to them just how the New World Translation twists the Bible, just in case they were ever to encounter them at the door. I also tell them to tell the JW's that they are Apostate and that the JW's will leave them alone after that. They sometimes get that confused and call it a prostate, which is humorous. Most people nowadays arent as naeive as they used to be, and with the help of the internet, they can find out the real truth about the "truth"

Well guess what? I too have told many many people at work about the dangers of the JW religion, its just a matter of who can get to them first, you or me.

By the way I believe I know which board you are talking about, and yes its most likely me. I havent posted on there in a while, I used to get on there and debate with Barryrob, but he eventually quit coming there,so my work was finished there.

Whoa hold on a second, you just got through telling us about personal responsibility, and then you say you got married-not by choice, and got baptized-not by choice, so which is it? Did your parents force you into these?

Hey Inquirer, I agree with your post, we need to do this democratically and contact our lawmakers and get laws passed that revoke tax exempt status to organizations that use high pressure tactics such as shunning to allow children to die and be molested, but first we need to get the attention of the media, and to do that the best thing is to picket. Our lawmakers need to see us on TV and realize there is a problem to begin with. I could probably go and visit with a lawmaker if I tried hard enough, but the fact remains that most lawmakers as with most people dont fully comprehend the damage that the WT does to people's lives. I would most likely get the brush off from a politician, unless they had some kind of awareness of the JW life, this is where the picketing works, it garners national media attention.
