Amazing example of dangerous cult behavior .
I appreciate your comments on Yahoo .
ever since i was a little boy i've been aware of this vague story about my older sister having some issues at birth, but never knew the details.. yesterday i was having a conversation with a much older cousin, who is a non-practicing jw about different watchtower issues.
while discussing the blood issue she totally came out with the story about my sister, which i never knew before.. when my sister was born some 40 years ago, my mother had the delivery at home with the help of a midwife.
i'm not entirely sure why this decision was made instead of going to a hospital.
Amazing example of dangerous cult behavior .
I appreciate your comments on Yahoo .
i always was a critical jw, now df and agnost.
but still this religion fascinates me.
in my eyes most jw are very sincere, but dumb sheep.. this board is filled with ex-jw.
People who suffer real spiritual and emotional trauma have a right to be bitter .
People who have 20-30 members of their close family shun them just because they don't go to meetings
have a very good reason to be VERY angry and motivated.
A normal human has a hard time ever letting go when they lose family even after 30 yrs .
Some are motivated by love to warn others about the cult .
so i tt mom and dad via skype last weekend (they live on the other part of the county) and the topic of abuse came up.
of course they went ahead and blasted catholics for their coverups.
i mentioned gonzalo campos, now mom and dad know this guy he went to their hall for several years in san diego.
Another proof this is a CULT .
Normal people don't act that way .
i have been diagnosed with complex ptsd by my therapist due to events of abandonment and abuse as a child.
the cult experience of being raised as one of jehovah's witness was a major factor.
i think that the sparlock video and the conti case has brought emotional flashbacks to some of us here, so i wanted to post information that i have found helpful.
bttt
this poor person is a study with the jws .
if you wish to contact her or comment on her question .it might be a good thing .

Paragraph 14 from Jan 15, 2010 Watchtower last article entitled "Jehovah's way of ruling vindicated".
"A few anointed members of "the Israel of God" still remain, and as Jesus' brothers, they continue to act as "ambassadors substituting for Christ (2 Cor 5:20) They have been appointed as a faithful and discreet slave class to care for and provide spiritual food for annointed ones and a growing crowd of Christians, who now include millions having the hope of living on earth forever.

? Is Jesus the "mediator" only for anointed Christians?
The term "mediator" occurs just six times in the Christian Greek Scriptures and Scripturally is always used regarding a formal covenant.
Moses was the "mediator" of the Law covenant made between God and the nation of Israel. (Gal. 3:19, 20) Christ, though, is the "mediator of a new covenant" between Jehovah and spiritual Israel, the "Israel of God" that will serve as kings and priests in heaven with Jesus. (Heb. 8:6; 9:15; 12:24; Gal. 6:16) At a time when God was selecting those to be taken into that new covenant, the apostle Paul wrote that Christ was the "one mediator between God and men." (1 Tim. 2:5) Reasonably Paul was here using the word "mediator" in the same way he did the other five times, which occurred before the writing of 1 Timothy 2:5, referring to those then being taken into the new covenant for which Christ is "mediator." So in this strict Biblical sense Jesus is the "mediator" only for anointed Christians.
The new covenant will terminate with the glorification of the remnant who are today in that covenant mediated by Christ. The "great crowd" of "other sheep" that is forming today is not in that new covenant. However, by their associating with the "little flock" of those yet in that covenant they come under benefits that flow from that new covenant. During the millennium Jesus Christ will be their king, high priest and judge. For more detailed information, see Aid to Bible Understanding, pages 1129 and 1130 under "Mediator"; also God's "Eternal Purpose" Now Triumphing for Man's Good, page 160, paragraph 10; also The Watchtower issues of February 15, 1966, pages 105 through 123; November 15, 1972, pages 685 and 686, under the subheading "Leading the Way to a New Covenant"; and April 1, 1973, pages 198 and 199, under the subheading "The New Covenant."

i constantly read that having faith is the answer to knowing that god (or in most cases, jesus) exists.
but to me it's quite clear there are serious difficulties in believing the bible.. adam and eve.
talking snake.
"Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass." - I Samuel 15:3

My favorite part of the bible is when
god gives people free will then murders
everyone with a flood for not acting the
way he wanted
i am relatively new to the forum, and not quite as familiar with all of the ins and outs of jw culture as many of you are, so i apologize if this is an ignorant question.
it is quite apparent the wt has handled child abuse allegations in a horrible way, viewing it as sin as opposed to a crime.
after an allegation is reported to the elders, and they are not required by law to report to the authorities, why don't parents simply go to the authorities themselves and report the crime.
In the past there were reports of elders sanctioniong or disfellowshipping anyone who
would talk about a incedent . Considering it some kind of slander .
