  My almost 80 year old elderly JW father is getting remarried.....

  he's been very lonely since my mother's death.

  the bride's in her 80's, and a lonely jw who lost her husband a few years back.

  thanks to mary's excellent guide i just found out about the henrietta m. riley trust fund.

  there was a heated discussion several years ago, here's the thread: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/11/54708/1.ashx.

  basically it is an investment fund whose sole beneficiary is the watchtower society.

  i'm not that good at quoting the bible.

  i see no value in learning verses by heart, sorry.

  however, i just learned that in the new world translation (the organization's bible), john 10:30, jesus is said to say "i and the father are one".

  others had commented on the latest shift of the interpretation of this generation.

  as you recognize this allows for an unending extension of time and likely stems from an awareness of the approach of the year 2014 marking 100 years since the date of 1914.. .
