I can relate to what you have said. Since I walked out of the Hall 9 months ago only 3 people so far could be bothered to contact me. I have a friend who was the PO of a congregation, and when he started fading he said "I don't know weather to be happy or insulted. I'm happy because I don't really want them coming around but on the other hand insulted because I spent the best part of my life busting my balls for that Org and at the end of the day I meant so much to them that only 3 people could be bothered to contact me. Part of the reason for this is the door frame mentality where by they have to go around knocking on doors but very little is done to retain it's current members. A good example of this was of 2 that bothered to see me. They were out in F'S so I'm guessing part of the reason was to count time on me. But shortly after they left because she had meet a person who may want a bible study. After they left I thought what would of been more productive. Trying to regain a lost sheep who spent the best part of his life believing a load of trash or a person who may want a bible study who probably won't be home and has forgotten about it. I have known of long time witnesses who have gotten sick and no one bothered to check up on them, and of another old dear who was seriously ill who's house was missed out in F'S because of the time it would take, and the society wonders why people are leaving in western countries.

Six years , new location , no love.
by smiddy ini had never thought about this that much until now.
my wife and i have been living in this community for over 6 years now , and nobody has ever called upon my wife or myself for that matter, to encourage us back to the meetings as jehovahs witnesses , who have become inactive /faded .. the same goes for my son and his wife , who live in the same area , have never been contacted with the intent of trying to re-activate them.. admittedly, only a couple of times in these past 6 years we both my son and i , have had witnesses call upon us in the normal d2d work , without acknowledging if ever they knew we were non practicising witnesses .
hard to beleive since my neice is in the local congregation , and is aware of our former congregations that we attended .. to cap it off , a few of our "freinds" who know where we are have never ever offered any encouragement or support in trying to get us back to their "truth ".

There is little doubt in my mind that those at the top are totally aware of what we are saying about them. If they went then ir would be pure bad management.

Will Child Molestation Lawsuits Against The Watchtower Corporation Make It Claim Bankruptcy?
by frankiespeakin inwe all know sales are dropping in money recieved from printing literature and that it must have been a money drain for quite some time now at least from the time they went to a completely free literature offer to avoid paying ceaser's things to ceaser, so that now the next big finacial move is thru real estate flipping and capitalizing of the jw work force thru slave labor working conditions.. could these lawsuits bring them to the breaking point finacially i know there are a lot of nay sayers among us, but what say you and what is your gut feeling on this one?.

This subject greatly interests me. Although they are downsizing and cutting back, I do believe they are far from going under. The Conti case is a drop in the bucket for what they are worth. I think what Wt needs to be more concerned about, is the damage to their reputation, which would be more than any financial settlement. Although I do believe child abuse is a problem in this organisation trying to get it to stick to them through the legal system is quite another matter. I also don't think that there wouldnt be the volume of good quality cases to Finnish them. I'm guessing there may be a couple dozen successfull cases at the most, and probably a $200-400 million pay out in total. Will be enough to certainly give them a serious head ach, but won't Finnish them - but hey I'm no legal expert. The difference between sex abuse with the Catholic church is that the priest were paid employees of the catholic church, and the Catholic Church should of known better. With the witnesses is was a case of , lousy advice, poor controls, and the restriction of information. I suppose with the witnesses every body's problem was no body's problem. Not as cut and dry as the catholic example. Well that is my opinion.

What are the feelings/thoughts within 24-48 hours of exposure to an undeniably true (for you) TATT?
by NeverKnew inmany of us know where we were during 9/11 or when john kennedy and martin luther king were killed.. it seems that when faced with ttatt, real truth is dismissed as "ol' light" or "an imperfect group of men" but from what i gather, many of you, at some point, were hit with a component of ttatt that shattered all of those cliches that allowed you to brush off the obvious reality that something was very wrong.
some of you may remember the hours following your earliest exposures to an undeniably true tatt.
did you zone completely out?

I must admit it took me about 40 years to realise that things wernt as they appeared. During my dubbie years I had personally encounted two acts of outright apostasy, but just dismissed it as bitter people. I have heard it said that out right apostasy is never effective. It usually a series of evnets that draws one into it, and I think this was the case with me. My first recollection of when I turned this way, was with a conversation I had with a guy at work. He was a born again Christian, and he was lamenting the fact that so many in his church were divorcing. I proudly said the witness do not have this problem. He replied by "I think you will be surprised".
So later that night I went home googled Christianity and divorce, with the idea of just trying to confirm what he said was correct. Sure enough he was right. Then I started reading things like " conservative Christian sects tend to have the highest divorce rate of all". I thought OMG I wounder if the dubbies fit into this group.
so over the next couple of weeks I researched more - but at this point not going to apostate sites. Looking at religion as a whole. Looked at the society publications and got no concert answers. So then I thought well there is only knew way I'm going to find out so I googled " divorce jehovahs witnesses". Up came JW facts discussing it. Although I was relived to find and answer, I was somewhat unsurprised by it. From there things just exploded.

FEWER NEW ZEALAND CITIZENS AFFILIATED WITH JWS IN 2013 THAN IN 1996: SUCCESSIVE YEARS OF DECREASE
by steve2 infewer new zealand citizens affiliated as jws in 2013 than in 1996: over 15 years of successive decreases.
the first table shows the new zealand census from 1976 to 2013. typically, numbers of citizens affiliated with the witnesses are higher than the number of active publishers because it includes children and those who are affiliated with the witnesses but who may not be active publishers.. of note, more citizens were recorded as affiliated with the witnesses in 1996 (19,527) than in 2013 (17,931).
the decline in numbers affiliating with the witnesses in new zealand started in 2001 and has continued across two further census reports - so this is not just a temporary blip.

I think what has happened in Aotearoa is that those more loosely associated with the witnesses, have become clearer in their out look. Hence the 2013 year book was able to show a slight increase while the census showing a decrease. To be honest I am surprised that they were able to show an increase in the year book. I have just recently faded in 2013 and just before I left, there was 10% of the congregation had walked out in the space of a few months. So obviously they are pulling people from some where, or that there was a lot of publishers who failed to report one month and then reported the next. From what I have personally observed it's a religion that appears to be loosing more than it's gaining.
