My advise would be “don’t let the door hit you on the way out.”

We are often frequented by people who are in your situation. Often the advice given is negative rather than positive, because in most cases it never ends well. I think the link below will adequately answer your questions.

Dutch State secretary reaction about abuse report and argumentation judge
by Gorbatchov inreaction of state secretary and arguments of judge about report jw abuse in the netherlands.
minister dekker: report on jehovah's sketches "extremely worrying" picture
the report on the extent of sexual abuse within the community of jehovah's witnesses paints an extremely worrying picture.

I realise that sexuality, and CSA are two different things. I really find this difficult to express properly, in terms of, how on one hand the Dutch are one of most liberal societies in the world regarding sexuality, yet on the other are more strict at setting acceptable standards of right and wrong. Its a good thing to see that they have drawn a very definitive line here. I hope others will follow.

Must read Dutch newspaper article about jw culture related to abuse
by Gorbatchov inmust read news paper article about jw culture.. jehovahs: "you do not bring a brother to justice" a parallel community with deviating values and norms, which conceals abuse cases as quickly as possible and where women are subordinate to men.
that picture emerges from a report on the jehovah's witnesses published on thursday.
bas soetenhorst january 23, 2020, 5:16 pm a gathering of tens of thousands of jehovah's witnesses in the rai in 1979. image anp with the jehovah's witnesses, the biblical principle is that you should not bring your brother to justice.

After 60 Years She is Heading Out!
by The Bethelite inif you read my book "new boy" i talked about a girl i met in 1972 at a convention in allentown pa. i fell in love with her at first sight.
however a problem came up a couple of months later, when i met and fell in love with my future wife, debbie.
both women's mothers didn't like me at all (go figure) and it was literally a coin toss between the two women.

Im in a similar situation to this, with regard to my elderly father, so I’m really in two minds. Provided the religion meets the needs of the individual, what’s the best course of action in awakening. Do I press the issue and try to awaken him, or do I leave him as is? I have chosen the latter.
For me it has created a love hate relationship regarding Wt. Nothing would bring me more satisfaction to see it go down in a massive blaze of glory. However, if things do turn for the worst, I hope it can be delayed long enough to out last my lovely Dad. To awaken him at 67 would just send him to an early grave. It occupies him, gives him something to do and a social net work. So for that I’m grateful.
Not being DFed either has made for a much smoother operation in providing care and support for him. I can intermingle with them in the operation of his life.
Well that’s my take, but I’m glade that your friend is happy with her situation in awakening.

I had to submit to a random work place drugs test yesterday, of which I passed. In this country smoking Marijuana / methamphetamine is illegal. The thing that really struck me was that despite the illegal nature of it, was just how prevalent and problem is. For example of the 14 randomly tested, 4 failed. When it become knowledge that testing was taking place a further 6 unexpectedly went home sick. 1 of those 6 was on the testing list and will be tested when he returns to work. So, in other words, in a random sample of 15 workers there were 30% who had drugs in their system. I was talking to my supervisor about this and said luckily for the company they stopped at 15 people because if they had tested everyone it would of literally crippled the company.
The worrying part here is, if this is a reflection of the population at large. What must this be costing in terms of health care and the social issues? What’s this costing where marijuana is legal? To be honest, I wouldn’t of expected the fail rate to be as high as it was, with the profession I’m in. Maybe 1 or 2, but when your at 33% this is quite another level.

PIMI relative complains about convention venue.
by joe134cd ini have just got of the phone with a relative complaining about the convention venue.
as far as my relative is concerned wt can do no wrong, so for him to say what he did it must of been bad.
the venue where the convention was held was described to me as a “tin shed with no air conditioning”.

The venue where the convention was held was described to me as a “tin shed with no air conditioning”. He didn’t know “how the brothers expected anyone to take on any information in such terrible conditions.” What made the situation worse was it was held at the worst possible time in the middle of winter, and in a city that was in the middle of no where. Probably 70% of them would of required traveling.
i was tempted to say, that if he felt the way he did, that he should of walked out. I was also tempted to ask what the cost of the assembly was.
me thinks wt trying to save a buck.
