Third from the top
by stillin innot being a very technical sort of person, i don't know what it is that makes the "results" from a web search change from day to day, but i have noticed this site sometimes on the first ten "results" and another time very close to the first "results.".
today it is the third result offered on my google search.
first is the official jw website.

I asked Simon how fast this was growing, and how many first time visits. It was a Hugh increase from when it first started. Perhaps Simon can give us the latest figures. Its not unusual to get a couple of newbies every week, and a tone of complaints, and I really don't know why. Jaja.

Emergency relief fund for the Philippines. How will it work.
by joe134cd ini was just thinking it will be interesting to see how the wts emergency relief fund will operate in the philippines.
ok it worked well with the storm in florida, with cashing in on the insurance cheques.
sorry to generalize, but americans have the disposable income, and the insurance polices for things like this - a thing the wtbts finds very attractive.

Look I never intended this thread to be about who help who, and been brainwashed, disfellowshiped etc. What I am trying to find out is if the society would be some what reluctant to help the needy in a less wealthy area (e.g Haiti), where there would be little or no chance of been able to retrieve the money OR weather it would be full steam ahead when they knew there would be a chance of a pay out. BTW thank you Sloppy Joe As you came the closest to giving me the answer i was looking for. What I am after is a person who has an eye witness account of the assistance given to the rich and affluent VS the poor and destitute. Are there still witnesses living in the ghettos in Haiti who still don't have a roof over their head, but the brother down the road has his house rebuilt because he was insured.

Ok it is sad that the society is more prone to helping there own, but on the flop side of that argument at least they are helping someone.

I think we kind of missed the point of what I was trying to find out. With out question it is terrible what happened there, and commendably there are many organizations on the ground trying to help people out. My heart really goes out to those people. What I am trying to find out is in a poorer economic climate (and no doubt it would be the poorest most vulnerable who would be most effected) when there would be no pot of gold at the end of it (insurance cheque) weather the society is so willing to and the extent of offering aid. I was using by way of comparison and example of Haiti vs Florida/Japan. By comparing these two examples we can estimate how those in the Philippines will do. Dose anyone actually know.

I was just thinking it will be interesting to see how the WTS emergency relief fund will operate in the Philippines. Ok it worked well with the storm in Florida, with cashing in on the insurance cheques. Sorry to generalize, but Americans have the disposable income, and the insurance polices for things like this - a thing the WTBTS finds very attractive. But with the rebuilding work in the Philippines, where there is just complete devastation, the people are generally poor, and it would be the poorest who would have no insurance. It could be a completely different story. Dose anybody know how things are carried out when a disaster strikes the most poorest communities e.g Haiti etc. Do they just repair there own buildings first, do a few token gestures and then leave the R&F in the ghettos to wait on jehovah. Comments please.

Does anyone know what is happening with Italy's (Rome) Bethel???
by LoisLane looking for Superman inthere are rumors out, that the italy (rome) bethel is being shut down and putting out to pasture a large portion of the bethel staff.. has anyone heard anything... ?.
the word is that everyone but the most senior members will be let go.
the senior bethel family members will be reassigned.

I'm sorry but I'm a bit confused here. So is the bethel closed because it can no longer pay it's bills. Or is it been closed down due to the society world wide down sizing. Or are the heavies been sent over to sort out an internal problem e.g apostasy, fraud etc, and there is no financial problem, hence the bethel will remain open. Is it even official that it will be closed. I have just spoken with an Italian brother who lives in Italy and he knows nothing of this. Totally in the dark. How very Watchtower.
