Here is another example i can think of just how not on the pulse they are with knowing what ones are up to. I remember been in a congregation of a sister who died. Ok although she didn't go knocking on doors she was regular at the meetings. And it wasn't until after she had been buried that i found out she died. Absolutely not a word, and i was very active at the time. Ok the congregation was a big one at the time but now that i look back on it i wounder how i possibly could of not known about it.

Losingit= In a sense im relieved and happy that I have been able to fade so easily. What I am trying to make sense of was just how easily and quick it has been.I mean I was in the Org for decades, had many contacts, and extended family and yet stop going and they forget pretty quickly. What baffels me most of all is considering the people they are losing particularly in western lands I would of thought they would be putting forth a bit of a better effort to regain the lost sheep.

I was just thinking. I was driving past the Hall a couple Saturdays back and seeing all the cars in the car park meeting for F'S. I thought it ironic how these people are prepared to spend countless hours aimlessly handing out magazines, and yet those very same people wouldn't even know where a member dying of cancer lived.

Below are a few examples:
This was a thread I posted on a couple days back. "I've been inactive for 6 years. I have relatives in the congregations territory where I live ( so they know where I live) and yet not so much as a whisper out of the dubbies."
From my personal experience since a stopped attending months ago I have only had 3 people physically visit me, and I would say out of those 3 cases only 1 of those came around to see me not with the motive of been able to count FS time on me. The other 2 that come around to see me were together out in FS. This stays in my mind because after I feed them, they had to quickly leave becasue she had meet some one who might of been interested in having a bible study. Why I remember this so clearly is because I thought of how back ward thinking they were, in that, what would of been more advantageous. Trying to encourage a person who spent most of his life believing a load of trash or having to leave the inactive person with the hope of encouraging someone else who probably won't be home or has forgotten about having a study. If it was a game of odds I know where my money would be. As far as even having been visited by elders or having repeated visits I have had 0. This I don't mind as I was kind of dreading having to talk to them but then on the other hand from the dubbie perspective you gotta wonder what is going on.
Another example is of a good friend of mine who I grew up with and purely by accident I meet on here. He was the the PO of his respective congregation, and when he started fading only 3 people bothered to contact him. His words also stay in my mind as well. "I don't really know what to make of this weather to be happy or insulted. I'm happy in the sense that I don't really want them coming around, but on the other hand insulted to think I busted my balls for that organization for a good part of my life, and at the end of the day I meant that much to them that only 3 people could be bothered to see how I was."
i have also heard of sick ones in the cong who no body bothered to see how they were, or ones who houses were skipped in territory because of the time it would take up.
I will admit these examples ( and this is from a dubbie perspective) I thought would be in the minority, but I'm beginning to think they could perhaps be the norm. So I'm just curious to hear fading stories of weather you just dropped off the face of the earth with no one noticing (which is a good thing) or weather it got to the point of harassment.

the co has asked for special "reaching out" to those who are not attending.
at the same time, it is reported that these congregations in this area are growing fast.

Some years ago I lost my card, and never bothered to replace it. In the fading process now and I am actually thinking about giving blood as a therapy to confirm that I have moved on.

Yes on a serious note I will agree with the above 2 posts. There is certainly a lot of pressure put on you to conform. Trust me I was in it for decades so I would know. If your performance isn't up to what can be expected, then you would be seen as been spiritually weak and the holy of holies may limit there association with you. I will give you situation I am in. I have stopped going to the meetings, because of knowing the TTATT. Becuase I am reliant on other members of the congregation for my livelihood and business, I'm now in the situation of having to keep my mouth shut, as I know opening my mouth would seriously put this at risk. You can see how it's a balancing act between the two forces. Another example of the pressure to comply, with out even been disfellowshiped. I happened to say to one of my internet friends if she wondered if the society may of been having Money troubles. From just one sentence she replied that she thought it was apostate ( although I didn't ask, I would be very interested how she managed to know that the society having money troubles was apostate. But I'm guessing it was because she had also been reading it on the net as well. BTW she would probably never admit to it). There was no dialogue into weather it was true or not, or how she reached the conclusion it was apostate. It was, I was no longer going to meetings and I had made a statement and that was it. All over in less than 3 sentences. I was later told that I was been deleted because of this. Anyway this person with in the space of a couple of days has been going around informing others and hence I am now finding my self getting deleted of peoples lists. I'm sort of, in a way stewing about wondering if the resulting gossip will now reach it's way up to the elders in my cong and a JC been formed. Just imagine the shit I would be in if I mentioned Rutherford been a raging alcoholic.
I will also add that the majority of witnesses have just got no idea (or would be interested in learning) about what WT gets up to behind their back. As far as openness and transparency with its members, WT would know the meaning of it. For example I had no idea of the scope or the magnititude of the child abuse scandel. A comment I hear often is "I'm just shocked at what I didn't know". Ultimately it is up to you weather you decide to follow,them or not. But I believe that Pharisee like religion is just bad news.
