I was just wondering the other day if the GB problems are getting bigger (e.g law suites, financial, scandals)or is it just a case of they have always been entangled in some kind of drama, but with communication been what it is, it's now a lot easier to find out about them more quickly. What do you think.

Suggestion for JWFacts
by ILoveTTATT ini have a suggestion for jwfacts, and to help make the article easier to write for paul, the collective jwn community can help.. in his article of "religions similar to jehovah's witnesses",.
http://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/similar-religions-to-jehovahs-witnesses.php.
paul uses mormons, cristadelphians, etc.... i suggest he also use iglesia ni cristo.

I HAVE AN IDEA FOR THE DONATION ARRANGEMENT!!!
by ADJUSTMENTS inif you are on the fade or still hanging in there, when they pass around the anonymous slips of paper at your congregation, how about writing down a high donation amount and not pay a cent of it.
i think nothing over a $1,000 because it may cause a red flag but to each his own.
i'm going to write down $500 and then watch the elders scramble every month to meet the quota... lol this will be fun!!!

I would if I could. But I'm coming up to my 1 year anniversary since I walked out of the Hall. I vowed I'd never go back. So I'm not much help to the cause.

What surprising reactions have you experienced from family and friends?
by cultBgone inmusing over several rather eye-opening reactions i've recently experienced has made me wonder what others have been told that made them go...wow.. my earliest was a family member upset with me for not attending meetings who exclaimed, "but you're going to die at armageddon!
" i told them that wasn't true because the bible says that god is love and he doesn't work that way.
they were very angry with me!

Most outrageous comment I heard, was when I was discussing the Conti case which I read in the NY Times. It went like this.
Me=sex abuse is a problem e.g$29million+ $1.
Them= I'm not reading apostate literature.
Me= oh I didn't realise the NY Times was apostate.
Them= oh well stop reading overseas news papers because it's going to confuse you.
I rest my case.

BETHELITES - Whatever Became of?
by Black Man ini often times wonder what happened to certain bethelites that i ran around with during my 1990s tenure there.
while there are still a few left there, the greater majority of them aren't there for various reasons (marriage, disillusionment, left the borg, etc).
a couple of cats i wonder about - there was one brother who i believe was from kansas, who got his fingers cut off in a printing press.

Although I have never been to bethel and am not from the Americas, I found this thread of great interest. It helped to put a human face to the magerzines.

I can't see anything coming of it. The Kings of spin will throw a host of legal excuses at it e.g 1st amendment. Freedom of religion. Statute of limitations. Trust me they will get out of it.

Embarrassed by Aggressive Apostates
by ShempLives inxjw protests & videos.
.. i am disturbed by some of the more aggressive apostates posting videos on youtube, like "a jw memorial to remember" where a drunk man goes to a memorial and downs the whole glass of wine as a sort of protest.
this video and others like it received positive comments from aawa members.

I must admit even I find such videos embarrassing to watch. All that this type of behaviour enforces is Wt take on the apostate movement as been angry and bitter just like their farther the devil.
