Well it was announced the other night that the new convention venue will be about a twenty hour drive away. In that 20 hours will include at least 3 hour boat ride. I'm guessing the cost of the boat ride + the cost of fuel would probably be about $US800 - $US 900. That wouldn't include the loss of wages for the 4 days just to get there and return. Your other option would be to fly. I was thinking if you were a solo mother with a couple of kids who was on a benefit allowance there is just no way you would be able to afford this. The silly thing about it is there is another convention which is only 4 hours away just up the road. I guess the society must of got a better deal with the one that was 20 hours away. So to hell with everyone weather you can afford it or not. This is just bloody ridiculous.

Anonymous Donation - Not!
by why144000 inmy mother in law (in her 80's) just told me that she had the elders around to pick up her 'donation' pledge.
it was 'suggested that $20 a month was the average amount pledged but she could pledge more or less.
so, rather than an anonymous amount they have a signed document stating the amount of her pledge.

There seems to be 2 lines of thought on this. Buried under the pyramid vs under a tomb stone a few feet away. I believe it's the tomb stone that marks the spot where he was buried.
I also heard another interesting story that Rutherford was buried under where the modern day garage is in beth sarim. Anybody know anything about this

Interestingly the person I spoke to in Medellin was totally unaware that they had also done a similar thing in mexico and in other parts of the world.

These are done at a local level and are always changing depending on congregations growing or decreasing.
