How many TRUE BELIEVERS do you think are left in the Organization?
by pistolpete ini have a few jw relatives who are true believers.
by this i mean, they believe with all their heart that 1914 was the beginning of the last days, that this is the last generation, that we are in the very last of the last hour of this system of things, and that you should obey the governing body even if it does not make sense.
all of them are in their 60s and up into their 90s there is nothing you can say or show them to convince them or even cause a small doubt that the wt is not god organization.

I think the Mormon church can be used as a gauge for the level of belief in the JWs. It has been suggested that the activity rates for the lds could be as low as 30%. If this was the case, then the JW religion could be bigger, with a more engaged membership. This 30% figure gets worse, when you factor in those members that have a temple recommend. Unfortunately the church doesn’t publish these statistics, but I would suggest that it would be significant below the 30%. You could be 2-3 million who believe it enough that they have a temple recommend -

Watchtowers next big revenue stream!
by nowwhat? inevidently it would seem the wt sold the rights and will get royalties from "listen obey and be blessed.." this obviously is a trial balloon for what's to come.
kim and mikey alluded to this and i have been wondering why they are planning on spending hundreds of millions on a new movie studio in n.y. and also in australia just for the benefit of the few million jdub's.
well here's the answer, they are going to make money off the royalties from their music and video content selling to other church groups.

Human imperfection, church policy or hypocrisy?? Watchtower vs BMG
by lssjr inthis new lawsuit continues to compound undeniable evidence that jehovah’s witnesses is keener in monopolizing "the truth" or making "kingdom assets" an exclusive right, so that they can interests of their "king, jesus christ".
it is clearly evident also the they are willing to fight for frivolous and materialistic rights they believe they are entitled to, but when it comes to child sexual abuse issues and their role, they certainly love to twist and hide behind law, to escape blame and responsibility.. below is the full text from https://avoidjw.org/en/news/watch-tower-bmg-music/.
the court documents are also available for download in the aforementioned link.. further commentary can also be found on watchtower sues bmg rights management over aled jones song.

Smokin' Phizzy !
by Phizzy inas a jw teenager in the 60's i took up smoking.
i gave up in my early 20's when my new wife and i decided , mistakenly, that it was a good idea to " make a proper go of da troof".
in all the intervening decades i still enjoyed the smell of a fine cigar.. when i left and became free, i took up smoking again, always fine cigars, and ended up hooked, and smoking ten or more a day.

Although I never stated the exact reason why. It got me thinking. To be honest, I find Christmas and birthdays a hassle, and I think it was a positive of been in the cult. I really couldn’t care less, or be bothered about Christmas or anything else. I don’t think I missed it in the past or will miss it in the future. I’m quite happy to wash the house and do the yard work. Those were my thought today. Merry Christmas to you all.

Kingdom Halls are been opened up now.
by joe134cd inmy fathers best friend passed away a couple of days ago.
admittedly, i live in a country that is covid free, although the local dubbies are still following the advice of not meeting in the hall.
with the death of my fathers friend, the local boe must have had a change of heart.

My fathers best friend passed away a couple of days ago. Admittedly, I live in a country that is covid free, although the local dubbies are still following the advice of not meeting in the hall. With the death of my fathers friend, the local BOE must have had a change of heart. At first they were going to zoom the funeral service. I tried to point out to my father how insulting and disrespectful this was to the deceased especially when the threat of covid is none existent here. All public gatherings are allowed by the government. Surly they could have a public service especially since this friend had been a loyal dub all his life. Anyway, I heard this guys son ,who isn’t a jw, got involved. Turns out he was also of the same opinion of me, and what ever happened the service is now been held in the hall, with a zoom option if thats your preference. This is the first instance I’ve heard of where the rules have been broken. In a way I’m happy for the family that they got to see their loved on off with a public gathering of ( conditional) friends. F*c$k you watchtower and your Pharisaical rules. -

Understanding a family member that’s A witness
by understandingjehovah ini need some advise or understanding.. my brother became jehovah witness because of his wife.
our dad is dying and over the last two months he’s done some very weird stuff.. my family knows he’s not a real witness because he sells corn liquor and pills, drinks daily, let us have our moms birthday at their house.
he’s also committed adultery, it’s rumored that he molested our cousin when he was younger, done fraud to my dying dad, lied about being our dads poa for greed only to find out he’s not, lied to the family about his estranged daughters, called his oldest daughter a b*tch because she doesn’t want anything to do with him, lied on our dads life to her to get her to talk to him, he has the name nympho tattooed on his neck, has slandered his immediate family and abandoned two of his daughters for over 20 years to start a family with his new wife.

With all due respect, I have some doubts about this story. If it’s true I can see why watchtower is in the trouble it’s in, when it’s got morons doing dumb shit like this. -

Past Watchtower Society Comments On Vaccines
by BluesBrother intoday there is a lot of hope placed in a vaccines to immunise against covid 19 , and relief that they are soon to be available.
that will be shared by the eight million or so jws in this world.
they should be thankful that the wts has moved away from its teaching ,that lasted for decades , proclaiming that vaccination was wrong, and a tool of satan.

Most JWs have little knowledge about the crazy past of WTBTS, little understanding of the orgs. position on blood/blood fractions and no understanding of the detailed doctrinal beliefs (things like Joels
Sadly, I have to agree with this . It wasn’t until I started visiting apostate sites that I began to see JWisim for what it was. At best just another religion. It still astounds me at how little I really knew considering I had been in the religion for decades.
