School this fall?

after a year's hiatus i am finally going back.

i'm so anxious, sleep it out of the question.

this first semester i have it easy.. the hard stuff starts in january.. for now:.

My daughter, son, Thunder and myself are all in school.

Mel is majoring in Arabic this weekShe changes majors like clothes.

Ant is going for his teaching and will have online classes while in the military.

Thunder is majoring in Biomedical Informatics (IT medical) He has two classes Critical thinking and Sociology

I have 17 credit hours HistoryII (from Depression to today)

Botany (is 5 credits)

English 101

Career Dev (online) I'm taking this cause I just adore the Proffessor LOL

Most of these are classes I was taking last fall, I dropped them when my Mother died

had a bit of an altercation this weekend... my nephew in law attempted to assault my wife..... this is the background:.

i have a deaf mute nephew with a personality disorder.

he's 32, and still lives with his mother and her fiancee.

You've been given some good advice.....He could have killed you with the bottle I worry that someone that out of control will end up killing his Mother and family as they sleep.....

Things kids say & do that bring a lump to your throat

you know what i mean ... when they do something **so** nice that you nearly start to blub !!.

the other day angharad had gone out and i was joking with the kids that with mum gone, they could have a pint of beer with me if they wanted (to see what they would say).. liam (7) told me in an earnest voice "dad, i don't think i'm old enough to drink beer yet.

i think i have to be 16" (16 = grown up to him for everything ... he's already sussing out how old he needs to be to drive).. well, i told him how i was proud he was so sensible and wasn't afraid to stand up and say "no" and that i was really looking forward to when he was old enough to take me out and buy me a pint of beer (ok, father-son moment ... i was getting emotional already).

Question... Do JWs shun Family?

i had a disagreement with xq in chat today, because he was trying to say that jws for the most part disobey the wts and still treat family like family even if they are dfd or quit being witnesses.. i don't feel that is true.

i think that the majority of us on here who no longer are jws have family members who no longer have anything to do with us and shun us.... so i said it would be interesting to take a poll and see how many here are treated just like all the rest of your 'loving family' who is a jw still.......are you treated the same?.

does family shun you for being df'd, da'd or no longer participating?or do they hide and talk to you but only when other active jws can't see?

NEWS FROM DOTTIE AND WILL AND BABY

i will just cut and paste

amy elizabeth was born on august 6 at 3:21 pm weighing in at 7 lbs and 12 oz in niagara falls, ontario (i knew she was gonna be a canucker ) she was a quick and fast delivery (5 and a half hours).

amy had low blood sugar at birth so her blood was tested every few hours and saturday after one of the nurses came in to check her blood, we noticed that her right arm had a twitch in it.

Do you buy flowers? or should he only? and if you are a guy, do you care?

when i was single and not dating anyone, i bought myself flowers if i felt like it...they just add that extra touch to the home.. .

but when dating, i tend to not buy them as much, because i don't want the guy to feel bad.. .

for instance right now.. my bf has messed up big time and although i would prefer he picked me up flowers for just the 'i am thinking of you" kind of thing.. i realize most guys do not do that... but he keeps talking about picking me up flowers.. he has for a month!

he has for a month! and he has gone out on me all night a couple times again lately.. AND a woman called the house the other night.. Two dozen long stemmed arranged roses should have been on my desk the next day..

Sassy: In this scenario the only thing I would want two dozen roses for his to maybe stick him in the eyes with them or somethinFlowers do NOT ever make up for disrespect. If Thunder ever bought me flowers because I was mad or somethin THEN I WOULD be ticked. I want gifts cause I am loved and appreciated and that is the only way to go. (((((((Sassy)))))))) He needs a swift kick in the ass if he doesn't appreciate a fine gal like you.

As for me I love to buy flowers or give them out of my garden. I gave Thunder a Red rose and a daisy after we met to thank him and make him wonder what that daisy meant. LOL I love to leave my German friend Edith flowers bouquets on her deck she askes me "who do you think you are Santa Clause" in this wonderful German accent LOL

He buys me flowers often, not as often as he use to cause I really prefer plants for my garden and such. The ones that I LOVE is when he will buy me a rose and leave it in my car at work.....or on my windshield LOL The rose may be fried from the heat or cold (depending on the weather) but the THOUGHT is HOT and WONDERFUL.

Strange Bar Snacks

i know we've all had the usual salty delights placed along the beer slickened runways of our favorite and not so favorite watering holes...(pretzels, peanuts and popcorn etc....)

but have you ever visted an establishment that veered just a tad from the traditional?

i know of a place that always has bags of saltine crackers and squeeze mustard placed along the bar and a tables.

A womans tears

this is really for the guys, but i know the woman here will have some great insights for us stupid men so i hope y-all will offer up your best.. when the woman i am with starts to tear up or cry i feel totally helpless and useless.

this is one of the most dreaded situations i as a man can ever find myself in.

my older brother, the retired police chief, would get angry if a woman started to cry when he was writing her a ticket, he felt it was an act.

Any shooters here?

i tried "sporting clays" today and i'm hooked.... been shooting shotguns afeild for years, but trap, skeet and clays are fun games... and really improve the shooting skills.. any other "dead-eyes" in here?.

I figured my son would skeet shoot while he is "where he is" but LOL they guards have to pick up each piece and each shot so they don't EVER shoot. Now if the President is there and asks them then they do.
