  let me start by saying that i deplore much of the teachings of the watchtower and am convinced that it is not "the truth.

  " either through ignorance, error or deliberate action they have caused great heartache for thousands and unknown heartache for millions.

  i have thoroughly disconnected myself from their teachings and would rightly speak out against what i know to be harmful in that organization.

  why is it so important that incompetent people (ie.

  the elders) not be allowed to be the investigative, judicial, and enforcement arms in these kind of cases?

  I don't understand the not reporting we have had TOOOOO damn many children in Kansas City, Missouri die within the last two years. Most from abuse and neglect but a few died from sexual abuse<one was a lil baby> The latest sickening case is two children 11 and 12 or so, an author WROTE a book and in it said he didn't turn the Mother and her boyfriend in because he didn't want to trust DFS. So these girls have been raped and God knows what else and seems everyone knew, we have news casts with people that stayed with them saying"Yep I knew" I think if they tried some of these people that did NOTHING maybe it would make people think. The author when confronted claimed he "didn't remember" now the book is a published book????? on library shelves????? He should be in jail for using them for his book and abandoning them.

  When my daughter was in High School a friend of hers told her somethings about her new stepdad. The girl was 16 and being spanked with her panties downbeat with brooms etc. Melanie saw the bruises told me and YES I CALLED the PROPER authorities. I think the girl was being sexually abused too but still not sure about that. All I know is that her Senior year she had NO step dad in the home and was a happy girl again that could have people over.

  Do I feel I overstepped my bounds NO, I am a human being if we don't protect each other than who the hell will. Would I call again YES. I am too selfish of a person I could not live with myself if something happened and I had stood by and did nothing.

  As for the Mother that allowed this to happen, I will never understand I just read "Bastard out of Carolina" if you haven't read it, it is a good read. But the Mother at the end finds her husband raping her daughter and LEAVES THE STATE with him. I thought she would cut his throat, she had a straight razor on her. I was shocked still am shocked that it ended that way. Just so you all know if I walked in and someone was raping anyone's child I would cut them ear to ear Would I go to jail yes, would my life be hell if I didn't kill them YES

  That is one thing my kids always knew, Mommy doesn't like guns, hitting or violence but if someone hurts us she will kill themno questions asked

  nearly everyone i know is 40 yrs old this year, even today a good friend reached the big 40. .

  i'm 40 in september (omg) and i dont feel any older than when i was 18. do you?

  Not 40 yet but I have never lied about my age, not that I don't get upset and sometimes women get mad cause I am older but they don't think I look older<I guess that is MY fault>.

  Disassociating myself ...

  well, it had to come to this eventually.. this winter my wife and daughter and i celebrated christmas with my in-laws, with whom we currently live (high school english teachers don't make much money!).

  my in-laws have been inactive for about two years, and this year, they decided to celebrate the holidays.

  one reason for this is that their son, who is eight, has multiple disabilities -- can't see, trouble hearing, other, quite sever, issues -- and christmas, with its presents and wrapping and loud carols and trees and wreaths is, well, a very accessible experience for him, the way, say, my kingdom ministry and the watchtower are not.. well, as a household we went all out.

  I think the elders were horrible, I am sorry to hear of your brother in law that is so ill. I think they should have been told that in the DA letter, I think as a English Proffesor you should let them know in no uncertain terms that their conduct was horrible.

  Teejay some people are overly critical, Thunder had a frustrated English Proffesor critique his book. The man was so jealous because he writes HORRIBLY that he just critiqued it grammatically. LOL Writing for fiction and grammatical essay style are two differnt things I MAKE straight A's on my essays and I think yours was good. Not to trite

  doubtless many of us have been to assemblies, and every may the km would come out with an insert about what you were expected to do and how to act.. reviewing the km's over the years , you can see the negative positve "councel".

  how to dress, how to act, howt to tip!.

  after reading this, doesn't it just want to make you run to attend the next d.c. ?

  I never had a problem with the kids running around after the assembley I was "the walking Mom" in RI where our Assemlby was or St. Louis I would walk around and around and around with the kids until I would get a nasty comment from a brother then I would sit down let the kids and myself nap LOL<leaning on Thunderes shoulder looking like I was cuddling> then we would walk some more LOL After we would go eat then go to a mall or walk in the commons in RI then we would all be pooped from the thrilling day!!!LOL

  When I nursed my baby it was great I would sit in the nursing room most of the time LOL
