  ABibleStudent, I didn't say Steve Hassan recommended protesting, or even bring up Steve Hassan - you did. There is nothing more on that page that's relevant, it simply mentions that he protests or protested. It mentions something more specific in one of his other books, but I'm not really willing to try and find that passage for you.

  To answer your question. Plant seeds of doubt in peoples minds, and openly stand up for something I believe in.

  I put this topic up here for suggestions of slogans, not because I can't think of one myself, but to get people involved in a small way.

  Thanks for the suggestions. I have read Steve Hassans books - it mentions in CCMC that he picketted cult gatherings. I've staged interventions for friends using Steve's methods, of course there's always methods more effective.

  You know the only apostates I ever came across when I was a JW? A bunch of protesters at an assembly. Whilst I didn't immediatly wake up, it planted a seed in my head - why are these normal looking people going to all the trouble of doing this - what's in it for them?

  That's true about the stickers/flyers etc, might be good. But that doesn't put a human face to the message.

  I agree that protesters that push their own religious agenda is in some ways as bad as the JW's. The crazy type of protesters may not be trying to convert anyone, they could be doing it to raise awareness to 'worldies' - you never know.

  Wow that attitude annoys me.

  To people who say "Protesting outside a kingdom hall only reinforces Watchtowers agenda" - just stop and think unbiasly before you say that. I used to briefly think the same thing - then I realised that that was simply me justifying my own lack of action so that in my head the actions of those who did more than me where "pointless and not accomplishing anything" therefore making me feel better. Not true - in the slightest.

  I'm starting to see a pattern on here of some people responding to others who are working on a letter, or trying to help a friend with statements like: "Don't bother, you're just wasting your time - they'll just throw it in the bin - they won't listen. Do nothing. Sit back."

  Imagine the profit margin on that new complex... mindblowing. The profit they make on Kingdom Halls times a shedload due to all those volunteers.

  Maybe I'm just a bitter apostate but that bit towards the end with all the smiley faces ... *vomit* *spew* *hurl*

  The part where there is two brothers standing side by side, one of them black, and the white guy jestingly pokes the other in the stomach as they pose for the camera - took me way back to the young zealous pioneers that always had this fake enthusiasm in the spirit of 'encouraging the young ones'. Even back then I saw right through it.

  I feel sorry for those smiley happy people.

  How Many A$$e$ Does One Have To Kiss To Become A Governing Body Member?

  you can only move up to being an elder without being an ass kisser pretty much, but it helps and one can make it there faster perhaps with a little ass kissing.

  i don't think one could rise much higher unless resorting to it and if you get lucky you can kiss the right asses all the way to the top.

  of course being too much of an ass kisser and you just get used but will not rise very high, there has to be a just the right balance and one has to choose carefully so i'm sure all eight current members can vouch for this to be true even with their memory problems and getting fact straight..
