Wow. I was cautioned never to do business with a church organisation - don't clean their windows, don't shop in church run op shops, don't donate to charitable organisations that are affiliated with churchs. This is yet another slap in the face.

New Zealand headquarters: Witnesses sell, Elim buys
by Fe2O3Girl inhttp://www.stuff.co.nz/auckland/local-news/manukau-courier/9124458/witnesses-sell-elim-buys.
it was the national headquarters for the jehovah's witnesses for 30 years.. but the 7.5ha wattle downs property has now been sold to elim church and could soon house a new christian college.. jehovah's witness minister george gray says advances in technology mean the property is no longer needed for running the church's new zealand and south pacific activities which will now be administered from australia.. elim church bought the property for its growing south auckland congregation and volunteers helped transform the site in just a matter of days.. pastor boyd ratnaraja says the congregation moved in on a sunday straight after morning services at their much smaller weymouth rd premises.. "they have done a superb job of setting up," he says.. the church will hold services for its 450-strong congregation at its new home as well as running counselling sessions and operating an op shop and a weekly soup kitchen.. "we believe in reaching out to the community.
we want this to be a centre of hope.

It allowed mental escape, but not in the kind of places a young child should be going.

Searching for Watchtower about working for / with disfellowshipped person
by confusedandalone inevening,.
i wanted to know if anyone knows which watchtower articles speak about working with or for a disfellowshipped person.
it would appear that there is now a huge witch hunt regarding this because of my recent situation.

They are implying that you should quit if your boss is disfellowshipped, or you should sack any disfellowshipped person. Notice the phrase 'continue the business relationship for the present'. Meaning as soon as any contracts run out that employee is out on his ass.
"This might impress on him how much his sin has cost him in various ways."
Being practically ignored by his employee or employer, and or being sacked or sacking someone. That'll teach em.

On Jerkhovas Witlesses, Kingdumb Hells, Filthful & Discreet Slavebugger and Pio-sneering . .
by nicolaou ini detest this type of posting.
it's only my opinion of course and so long as forum rules aren't breached we're all free to express ourselves as we see fit.
doesn't mean i have to like it though.. honestly, can't you make your point without this kind of infantile name calling?

Some of them don't make a lot of sense or don't seem clever at all. Wash-towel? Slavebugger?
It doesn't offend me at all, but I agree if a paragraph is littered with these replacement words it's too laborious.

It just goes to show that everything Watchtower touches is messed up. If you watch the other video on stealing, it's like they ALMOST got it right. It was ALMOST an innocent message, but then they went and added: "don't steal because if you do, Jehovah won't be your friend."
Not a good reason Watchtower. The golden rule would have sufficed.

I did an experiment with those watching the world articles. Look through as many as you can and try to find one possitive comment about the world. Everything is in some way negative - the environment is getting worse, politicians are corrupt, people are violent, churches are dishonest.. ect ect.
Sometimes they are subtle, but they are all negative. No wonder JW's think the world is a scary scary place.

Do You Think The Witnesses Actually Know What They Believe In?
by minimus ini think they know what they don't believe in, like no blood, no hellfire, no trinity....but they really couldn't explain what their beliefs are and why they believe as they do.
do you agree?

Just had a mental image of an apostate walking into a kingdom hall, tipping over the contribution box then chasing the book counter attendants out with a whip.

The Sparlock video can be recognised as cult conditioning just as it is out of context, just look at all the non-JW's who posted video responses to it on youtube.

You may be right. This could just be a 'freebie' from the Watchtower - an innocent cartoon just meant to teach a nice lesson to kids with no alteria motives.
But from my experience Watchtower rarely give out 'freebies' : articles or info that is not in some way motivating the flock to do things or not do things to keep them in control.
It's possible this is purely an innocent output, but from past experience I'm inclined to think it's not.
