  March 2014 - Food at the proper time regarding creation

  dear brothers.

  after some struggling with trying to make the bible's account of creation square with the physical evidence presented by science i was so pleased to recieve the latest awake magazine (march 2014) via jw.org with it's lead article "the untold story of creation".. your detailed article provided vast amounts of credible and scientifically based evidence that counters even the most determined of evolutionists.

  this article shall be an absolute blessing in the ministry and shall no doubt be instrumental in changing the minds of countless ones we meet.. the material is certainly new, detailed and clearly presents more than compeling evidence of as yet unknown arguments and evidence for creation that are irrefutable.

  This part below concedes a certain extent, enough leway to not make JW's completely bawk considering the clear evidence of evolution - but it looks like they are not budging from creation anytime soon. Even though they denigrate creationists in the same breath, saying they are fundementalists - yet they somehow 'reason' that they themselves are NOT creationists. Doubletalk.

  • The kinds of animals and plants created by God have obviously undergone changes and have produced variations within the kinds. In many cases, the resulting life-forms are remarkably different from one another.

  • The Bible account of creation does not conflict with the scientific observation that variations occur within a kind.

  Death. Not the scythe and hood guy... but the entity, yes. The last enemy.

  If death was to blame - then the firstborn would have lived a long life and simply died of old age. But their lives were cut short - death came early. Who caused death to come early to these people? Are you saying death has a mind of it's own?

  ive been pondering my beliefs for a while now and ive come across things that i just cant accept.

  i was recently walking with a christian who stated that the universe couldnt just come from nothing.

  he said that the universe was so complex that it needed a designer, he also said something which ive heard before.

  God did not kill them... He did allow Death to pass over Egypt. But not every firstborn in Egypt died... because all those who believed in and obeyed God put the blood of a lamb on their doorstep.

  This reminds me of Terry Pratchett's character 'Death'. What are you talking about tec? A cloaked skeleton figure with a sheath did not just happen to be passing by killing firstborns and god in all his wonderful mercy allowed an escape clause from death if you put lambs blood on your doorstep.

  It's exactly like the Abraham situation, god mandated the firstborns to be killed and then "mercifully" saved those that obeyed his weird stipulation. If he tempers his genocide with a token amount of "mercy" if people carry out his stupid tests of loyalty am I supposed to see how "loving" he is?

  I just want to also point out that earlier in this thread you mentioned that you stopped studying with JW's because you couldn't justify that 90% of the human race will be wiped out at armegeddon, yet you're making ridiculous excuses for the wholsesale slaughter of people by god.

  You've taken great pain to answer all those points but you didn't answer the hypothetical question if god/jesus asked you to kill your child would you do it - you did however say you would know it isn't god asking because he wouldn't ask such a thing - well lets stipulate this, it IS god asking, you know for some reason or another it IS god asking this of you - would you obey?
