i understand how You feel. I too have to operate under the radar and fake jwness...i too will not be free 'till death do us part because my wife is so into jw stuff.

after many years i just rewatched the prequel trilogy.. the gb just took power upon themselves by creating their own crisis and blame it on the devil or the world; like palpatine/sidious created the conflict that elevated his power.
then the gb elevated themselves by stating that they were the fds, like palpatine elevated himself to emperor.
if anyone disagrees, they are called treasonous and eliminated.. palaptine's manipulation is just like what the gb does.. they play to people's emotions in their efforts to overcome death and defeat death.

having a believing spouse, but no longer having any desire to go to the meetings, or service, this is what i've come to call this space i'm in, and i'm sure a few others are in this same space.. nightowl .

nearly the same situation as You, wife is still fully in but more and more accepting That i don't give a sh**t about religion as long as i go to meetings and go from time to time in field service...so not at the breaking point yet.still it's difficult from time to time.
There is no perfect advice as all situations are different, but the first thing is to determine if You want to protect your Family (and by That i mean spouse and other relatives still in), what This Family is ready to accept or not, and what compromise are You ready to accept or not.
If you're not in the mood for compromise, then determine if You are ready to cut dry with (at least in first) the shunning conséquence.
If you do not feel ready there is nothing wrong to go along for a while...
You have to determine what's best for You...but here You Can find support and no judgement.

at the mid week meeting we had a letter, and a video to explain the extension project for the french bethel for the next 3.5 years.
the video was 5min long, in 3d (nice job in fact...) to show the future buildings for flats and offices (translation, video dubbing...).

I have to Say, That the Louviers new vidéo was not too badly done, on a graphic point of view.it reminded me a little about what is done in the vidéo game Sims...fifth column, did people in your hall applaude at the end of the vidéo? They did This in mine...rather stupid i thought but hey they applaude for everything...

this is how one remains a jw.. i decided to start a new thread to discuss this, since i didn't want to veer completely off the topic of the original thread.. i can relate to what rufus said - not concerning my wife, but other close jw family members.
Well in my area i see those kind of dubs:
- those who keep talking about jw.org stuff That they should do (meaning pioneers,how do they get their hours, does X or Y wear tight dress or not,does Brother X and Y want to be Elder or MS). Those are from various ages, and are considered as the "spiritual " ones...My wife, my Elder step father and all Family,etc.
- those who keep talking about each évent in the world (war,accident, etc) as fuldilling of the prophecies and bring up the topic at each occasion they have,usually to Say the same thing every time...my parents, and my side of the Family... Even the "spiritual" of the first category thinkd That they are lunatic people and try to avoid them...
- people in their 30's, keep talking about movies,parties, holiday trips,etc. They still show up at the hall and in field service each week, but once those activities are done, they have better fish to fry...not far from many people from other religions.once out of the church,life goes on. They are viewed as "not very serious" by category 1, and as "Nice enough" by crazy category 2!
- myself: Don't give a sh**t about religious thing and saying it each time category 1 or 2 wants my opinion on a jw stuff, but trying to keep a low profile nonetheless because doesn not want to be DF...yet. Can not fraternize toi much with category 3, because some times with those people, jw reflexes are back and it Is annoying...

Just received the same e mail in french This morning,from one of my Family jw.
seems That This week it Is time for french jw to tell tales...
it does not seem to be True...if it was, i seriously doubt That the secret service agent That allowed a guy to have something in his pocket even if was told not to, would have been sacked. They know better than having the président at risk the same way than David Palmer in the last épisode of 24 season 2. Even if there has been recent issues with white house security.
still,it reminds me of the same urban legends i Heard as a child on France, of some people "witnessing" to french président in the 80's or to the french prime minister in 1995 (for those who follow France, Guys names were Francois Mitterrand and Alain Jupé).
but how weird, we Never knew the names of those witnesses and they never were invited to tell their story at an assembly...
looks like a "fairy" tale to me...
