Dateline, CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, BBC, CBC, New York Tim es and over 30 countries around the world have presented documentaries that have identified child rapists who enjoy sanctuary in Jehovah?s Witness congregations.
This quote makes it sound as if JWs are really known as phedophile protectors. If you really think of the exposure, it really isn't a huge story to tv networks. Dateine NBC only aired a some 20 minute story about the allegations after not promising when, if ever, the story would actually air. The show drew one of the lowest viewership rating for the show on that night for the season. Dateline hasn't done any follow-ups or aired the same segment since then. Other networks, like CBS and CNN, have never done any in-depth investigation reports.

It appears that you are assuming many things. Me reading the bible or Awake or your wife soon leaving you if she doesnt quit, is another. I feel sorry you see things that are really not there. Best advice I can give you is not to believe everything you hear. And don't limit yourself to read or hear from one point of view (which is this site).

JWs don't charge for any literature. Everything is supported by donations. There is no number of mags a W can give away.

JWs wives don't divorce ther husbands when becoming Witnesses.
I also used to attend a Spanish congregation. In all the years, I've never heard anybody-- Witnesses and other people-- use the word 'cult' in Spanish.
Now about JWs being a cult. Please.
Is the WT as dangerous as you all say? They feel NO REGRET in breaking up families, having your wife study behind your back, and sneaking her off to conventions without your blessing. They have little respect for husbands who are non-JWs and will put their demands ahead of you and your family's needs.
I don't know if you know this, but there's something that's called 'A Personal Decision'. Just like there are some things a couple must decide together, there are also some things a person should decide on their own. And one of those things is faith. And you should treat her with respect instead of what looks good to you and how you want things done.To say that she will have little respect for you if she decides to become a Witness is a lie.
I am going to Kingdom Hall with her tonight to keep an I on her and learn more. I feel strong enough in bodymind and spirit to do so.
C'mon now. She is not a child. There is nothing to be afraid of. Keep us posted.Any more advise would be helpful in helping me contain myself tonight

the one missionary said he had baptized 20 people in his year and a half and was embarrassed because it was far below average (he claimed he was below half the world average). I've been a member of quite a few JW congregations and have never seen that many be baptized per congregation, let alone per missionary. Anyway, the point is, the Mormons have more baptized individuals worldwide than the JWs every thought of having,
The LDS church has, perhaps, the poorest retention of any religion. See, mormon missionaries baptize people within 2 weeks of meeting them. The person usually never attends church after one visit. The missionary's goal is only to baptize them, not to keep the person's interest alive.

FAVORS "I will only do this because he/she is a Witness"

This will probably be a long thread.
We all remember those favors. Back then we wouldn't do a particular favor to anybody, but because the person was a Witness we did. And remember how bad they paid us back?
A brother from Texas was moving to L.A. and my mother invited him to our house to save some money since he got a new job here. His wife and 2 teenage boys came later. Now my mom really did it. To make room for him, she threw my 4 sisters out of their bedroom to the living room--with me! Appearentaly this didn't bother my parents. What bothered them was that he broke our glass kitchen table when he was getting up He left my dad alone to pick up the pieces. The good thing is that overtime he began feeling embarrased walking to the living room at early times of the morning to go to work. He moved in with a brother from another congregation.
Now, my mom claims that his wife wouldn't let her husband hang around with her because of jealousy and thats why she began to talk to her very little and then to the point where they just didn't like each other. But for the sake of the meetings, there was a simple greeting.
But apparently they didn't learn from this. Because my mom's brother-in-law was Witness she also invited him in. This time he slept in the living room. Althogh staying for several months here, he never did contribute anything to the house while he was working. He finally moved out, and then the wife appeared in the picture. Things happenned. They really argued one night and he ended up saying "We have nothing to be grateful of". And mom's sister with her mouth shut, he said, "**** and I don't want to have any type of a relationship with you" And they left!
So what are some of your experiences?
