  Hypothetically, If Someone Created a Fake Congregation to Trick Another...

  let's just stay hypothetical.

  if someone wanted to create a fake congregation in 7-miles-from-nowhere, north dakota (7-m-f-n, n.d. congregation) in order to trick the elders at another congregation, what could they get away with?.

  At the time I left it was important to me to disappear. I did manage to have my Publisher Records cards forwarded to a family member including the letter of introduction. I was however in relative good standing at the time which facilitated the deception.

  I still have my cards and I did a successful disappearance. However later when I got involved in Child Abuse issues as an advocate and appeared on TV and testified in court the resulting shunning still happened even tho a formal Committee has never been formed against me.

  So disappearing while still in relative good standing is fairly easily accomplished (I've helped a few people do so). Getting reinstated so as to then fade is a lot more difficult but not impossible. Posting the exact details of how it was done is rather self aggrandizing and threatens the success of the initiative but people make their choices.

  when using a public restroom, how do you feel when a complete stranger pulls into the urinal right next to you and starts up a conversation with you?

  do you feel indifferent, slightly uncomfortable, or violated?.

  or are you one of the weirdos who does this?.

  It is a violation of the guy code to talk while at the urinal. Any recognition that a person is even standing beside you is pretty much off line!

  Conversation can begin or even resume once the zipper is pulled back up.

  Conversation while washing one's hands (yes guys do that once in a while) and someone is using the urinal is in the grey area but would not be met with the same scorn as doing so while standing side by side or even while in stalls.

  Sending Out a Letter to My JW Daughter - Give Me Your Thoughts Please

  some of you probably read my jw daughter's letter to mrs. flipper and me a few weeks ago where she tried explaining to mrs. flipper why she doesn't have anything to do with me ( says i talk negative towards the organization ) .

  in that letter though she showed some flashes of her authentic, kind personality and told us she loves us.

  but much of the letter was proselytizing to us about how bad the system is and how jeovah will bring a paradise, etc.

  When someone presents themselves as a pseudo pyschologist and one with all the answers they set themselves up for the kind of scutiny Vinny is persuing albeit to a strange degree.

  Flipper can come across as a very arrogant "all knowing" character. Such characters are going to be challenged,

  after reading the ouji board thread, i wondered if anyone had "dared" anything of this nature.. i was always too scared to even watch movies with any of this content.

  i do read my horoscope.

  my great aunt was into the occult and she was told she would die before she was 50 when she was in her 30's.

  I have had two readings. Both were almost exactly the same, stating I am a very old soul 2,000 years plus and that I will have an reasonable existance but will come into a money making venture later on in life.

  They both spoke of a spiritual turmoil but that I would come to rest in mid life with my spirituality.

  It was alll vague enough to question but close enough to make me wonder. Having two say the same thing either means accuracy or I give off the same 'tells'

  oh contrare mes amis. (On the contrary my friends.)

  Due to various circumstances I recently took a demit (aka quit) from my Lodge. It took a letter and it was done. No pressure, no grief, no repercussons. They did want to know why but accepted my decision.

  I will likely be joining another Lodge in the very near future (my old lodge didn't/doesn't know that) but this crap about not being able to leave is just that ...crap.

  The Masons are pseudo religious but can't really be called a cult. No high control, no demand for common belief except in a creator/designer.

  Back to the point of the article however, the Mason's will do more for the community than the JW's ever have and certainly won't be harassing the neighbours at 9:30 Saturday/Sunday morning.

  purple: The WHO phases are simply a gauge of the spread of a possible pandemic not the severity in each country. But no there isn't any current talk of going to 6.

  This recent H1N1 outbreak has been the best possible "first pandemic' since the alert was raised about a potential avian flu 5 years ago. Limited mortality but very easily spread. It has exposed a lot of holes in planning.

  This thing will in all likelihood be back this fall with a higher mortality rate and people and organizations are not ready. For example most school boards do not have any kind of pandemic plan or protocol.

  I think I am just a little gun shy after years of claiming the world is going to end 'real soon' so am very wary of being a 'chicken little'

  Speaking of Chicken Little, one day a teacher was reading the story of Chicken Little to her class. She got to the part where Chicken Little ran up to the Farmer and announced "the sky is falling, the sky is falling" The teacher paused and asked her class, "How do you think the Farmer reacted to such a dire warning?

  One little girl put up her hand. The teacher asked again, "Okay Susie, how do you think the farmer racted?"

  Little Susie responded "He probably said, holy sh1t a talking chicken!!"

  as a result of wanting to have a normal life, away from the dogma of the jw religion,.

  many have lost contact with parents, children and in many cases, their spouse.. my divorce was uncontested and i was fortunate enough to get out of from watchtower control with my children.

  my parents were never involved with the religion,.

  whoopie specifically asked sherry about jws and their prediction of the end of the world.

  she said that the jws were having public meetings to tell people how to survive the end.. sherry answered that the predictions came from the bible and that the jws predicted the end in 1975 and they were still waiting.. the others chimed in with a lot of jokes so not much more was said but i was glad sherry got to say something and that the end was predicted in 1975..

  this is for anyone who cares... just my thoughts and opinions, which have slightly changed since i have left the cult.

  a poster named melita said some really inappropriate things on barbara andersons thread on jaracz's stroke, which got me to finally post this, just to put it out there...... when i first left, i was scared s*itless that i was being monitored and watched by bethel for reading and posting here.

  Paranoia is huge when you first start thinking for yourself

  I remember being in a bookstore looking for "apostate' literature being absolutely convinced an elder was going to jump me as I walked out of the Christian bookstore. Never happened.

  I was tracked for a while due to involvement with some of the legal cases but that was diffused quickly. But if you are simply fading there is a very slim liklihood of you being tracked here especially if you do not post personal information.

  If you are involved in legal cases or other activities against the JW's then you should limit posting anything personal that would identify you. Otherwise brooklyn just doesn't care/
