A man walking his dog during the early morning hours found partial remains along the shoreline of Lake Ontario. It means that sometime between 6:30 PM when she was last seen and approx 8 AM, this little girl was abducted, dismembered and discarded into the lake.

This is the second time in the past couple of years a child has been murdered and dismembered in the western Toronto area. The first one was a 6 year old. The father and his second wife have been charged and are serving life sentences for this heinous crime.

The community is rallying behind the family. I cannot begin to imagine the anguish of the parents of Holly. I look forward to them capturing this sick bastard and can only hope he is placed into the general prison population.

Anyone who can kill and dismember the most vulnerable of society is an animal and is not deserving of human rights.

statistics canada just released the results of their 2001 census.. .

in the 10 years from 1991 to 2001 the jw's had a 8.1% decrease .

1991 - 168,375 (km reports approx 110,000 active pubs).

2001 - 154,745 (I am not certain of the KM reported figures for this year but am presuming it to be 115-120,000 *** added by edit - I was just informed the peak in 2001 was 110,000.****

Interesting that it was in/around the early 90's that the Internet became more common. Information is power and it is having an effect!

i have always loved perfumes and oils and i have quite a collection that i use as the mood strikes...but i am getting low on many of them and it is time to think about making that birthday gift list sooooooo... what do you wear and what do you like and why?.

my all-time innocent favorite is muguet des bois(lily of the valley)--reminds me of my youth and a cousin who gave it to me as a gift who is passed now.... but i also love the scent of lilac, usually in an oil.. my favorite perfumes are: obsession, rare rubies(avon), coty wild musk, revlon's fire and ice, white shoulders, sand and sable, ck's truth, (and also mesmerize, odyssey, foxfire, jasmine, raining violets, honeysuckle, lemon velvet, hawaiian white ginger--all old classic avon you can only find at flea markets or once a year in the book.).

but i need something new....i like the oriental/spicy blends, but not for all the time.

Two pieces of string wanted to get into a nightclub. They saunter up to the door, and this big burly bouncer takes one look ate them and says "Hey we don't allow your type in here...no strings allowed." With a snarl, he tosses them back out onto the sidewalk.

The two pieces of string get up brushing themselves off. They are both disappointed because tehy heard this was the best club in town.

One string says to the other, "I have an idea. Let's tie ourselves together. Now let's mess our ends up a little."

So they walk up to the club door again, tied together at one end, their hair all mussed up...

The bouncer eyes them suspiciously, "Hey are yous guys string?"

The strings answer in unison, "Nope a fraid knot"

i guess that some parts to the cultish religion are hard to shake off.

I was in Bethel for 11 years. Anytime you need to re-affirm tha tyou mad ethe right decision drop me a note. I'll be more than happy to re-inforce the reasonings why you left the Borg.

Enjoy life. If there is a Creator that cares for us, don't you think he wants us to enjoy it not worrying about how many hours we have to meet to satisify a group of men in a congregation to prove our spirituality?

Do you really think an Almighty God cares if you make 5 meetings a week? Don't you think that a god who is allegedly going to judge hearts will do just that and not base the judgement on your publisher record card or attendence record for meetings?

I wish you all happiness. Of note, while in Bethel i constantly prayed for peace of mind. I only achieved it about 2 weeks after making the decision to stop going to meetings.

Ahhh life without man made (congregational) guilt trips ...

hi all just visiting to give you all a push in the right direction...i'm chris from italy and came across this site by chance and was shocked to see so many apostates that were once witnesses..come on you know that jehovah is our loving god and that your only saying these things to justify your descions to break away from the word of god.babylon the great is has almost fallen!

!then what peace and security and the end will come!for crying out loud there already starting the road map to peace and security!!

Interesting name svegliatevi Isn't that the name of "Awake" in Italian? I remember working with the magazines in that language while in bethel.

One of the mags I remember was in 80's when the front cover declared true Peace and Security. Since the UN and Pope had declared that year as the year of Peace and Security. The magazine inferring strongly that this could be the start of teh cry of peace and security. That was almost 20 years ago. It is a long road map you are talking about.

I walked away from the Organization 5 years ago. I am not nor have I ever been disfellowshipped nor have I disasscoiated myself. The lack of love, the politics within the BRanches, the Pharissitical rules and arrogant elders were far from the fruit of love that is supposed to identify true Christians.

I appreciate you caring enough to at least be polite in your encouragements. However please realize that for many here, the WatchTower has meant a place of suffering not a place of relief. We have left a man made organization. This does not mean that we have left Jehovah.

As one person I know put it, "I have enough faith in Jehovah, that if his favor is still on the Watchtower Society, he will still know my heart and judge me accordingly. I am not without sin, but thankfully it is Jehovah that is the final judge and not the elders or the Governing Body"

I may not share those sentiments but it is food for thought.

If This Place Was A Congregation, Who Would Be The Elders, MS and CO's?

i know some of you hate the idea of jwd being like a congregation but just for fun, let's imagine who would "serve" as the elders (presiding overseer, secretary, service overseer) etc.

and what "privileges" you would be given.
