  Would you rather have the truth, or your feelings spared?

  if it was me, i'd rather have the truth up front.

  i went through an experience where someone didn't tell me the truth about a situation, thought that by not being totally honest, my feelings would be spared.

  maybe at the time, they were, but afterwards when i found out the truth i was deeply hurt and confused.

  Well you are all obviously much smarter than the people referenced in the scenario above.

  He tried lying, she wasn't listening. He gave in, they got married and are now going through divorce proceedings.

  Obviously there were other issues than the drunk liaison, and I don't know how the truth would have worked out for them, but his trying to sugar coat it, certainly wasn't the solution.

  Jeff and his wife are residents here in the Toronto area. I got to know him a little through his sister and brother inlaw (his wife's family).

  He opened an amazing litle venue (Healy's) downtown Toronto and I was fortunate enough to catch him jamming with some of the rock greats.

  He is a testament to the ability to fight so many obstacles.

  Likely best remembered for Angel Eyes but he was about the only good thing about Patrick Swayze's bomb Roadhouse. (His club name was actually Healy's Roadhouse" but most locals just called it Healys.)

  Here's a scenario:

  Two people. One interested and the other has repeatedly said no, just friends. Both are very attracted to each other but the guy realized she wasn't for him.

  One night a group of friends go out, everyone gets fairly drunk. Flirtation leeds to physical contact which leads to an intimate session back at the woman's home. Throughout the time back at her place, she professes her love over and over.

  To complicate it further, they are neighbours.

  Honesty is she is not relationship material for him but is very sexy and truth is little head won out over big head. This leaves her feeling like a piece of meet that was used.

  How does one honestly tell a woman who is a casual friend, that it was just a drunken mistake?

  Truth or a lie to leave her dignity and possibily the friendship intact?

  Regardless of the cause, most experts do agree that we are seeing more extreme weather in both scale and frequency.

  Rather than petty arguing people need to start bracing themselves for such extremes and severe weather. Have you prepared your family in case of prolonged severe weather or possible blackouts resulting from such? Are communities investing in the infrastructure they need to endure and respond?

  As a second comment, any steps towards conservationalism to me is a positive step. I think the resistance is coming from it being forced. But we do really need to do a beeter job taking care of our home globally.

  children below 15 to get blood infusion even if parents object friday, february 29, 2008 at 06:49 est tokyo a joint panel of japan's five medical societies on thursday said that children under 15 who require blood transfusions should be given them, even if this means going against the wishes of their parents, such as jehovah's witnesses, who object to such treatment on account of their religious beliefs.

  releasing guidelines on the issue in a press conference, the panel headed by fukushima medical university professor hitoshi oto said children under 15 should be socially protected, drawing a line at the age from which a person's competency to make a will is recognized under the commercial code.

  "the guidelines will help facilitate the decision-making and choice of socially appropriate treatment by medical institutions," oto said.
