  A comment I heard tonight

  tonight i heard one of the most cruel and twisted comments i've ever heard at the platform.

  the topic was the apocalypse and whether or not children will be slaughtered.

  through one side of his mouth, the po stated that the bible is not clear on the matter, while out the other side he pointed to all those old testament accounts where children were killed.

  Why does anybody use Old Testament (Hebrew Scriptures) to back up how we should live our lives today? If that's the case, then when somebody steals we should cut off their hand, or we should stone people in the town square, offer up animal sacrifices etc. I never understood why people take some examples of the Old Testament as literal, and some as only guidelines to live our life. With that thinking, I should be allowed to have numerous wives, kill people in opposition to Jah, etc.

  Did God lie about Satans rebellion to justify his own actions?

  keeping in mind that his followers malign the reputation of departing witnesses regardless of their reasons for leaving, do you think that god made up lies about satan's motivations for rebelling in order to justify his own harsh course of action?.

  The Pope is NOT the voice of God on Earth

  i have always been a little bit puzzled by jws loudly proclaiming that the pope is not the "voice of god on earth", and turning around and vernerating the watchtower as "the voice of god on earth.".

  i have repeatedly told jws to apply the same standard you do against the pope to the watchtower and you will be more than a bit dissapointed.

  the best answer i could ever get was, "well that's different".. can any exjws explain this?

  JW Reaction to Pope's death

  i'm not sure how to ask this not being, never have been, a jw.

  with millions, maybe billions, of people around the globe paying their respects to this great man, what is, or what would be, reaction from jw's (a gb member, a co, do, an elder, anyone?

  ) about the death of the pope and all the network(s) coverage surrounding his passing?

  The pope was just a man...appointed by other men. I hear that he was a good man. But I don't believe he deserves any more respect than the gentlemen who was begging me for some change on the street the other day. And if the pope was really the great man they say he was....he wouldn't either. The GB are equally undeserving of special respect.

  It's all a ruse. In our circuit they combined circuit side A with circuit side B. Now when you go to the circuit assembly, it looks like a great increase has taken place. It's all just smoke and mirrors. The only "increase" that is taking place, is in the amount BS that is spouted from the podium.
