I think Lett is the narrator voice of all those dramas at the District assemblies. I used to make fun of his voice for years. I get what he's doing. He fashions himself as a professional voice talent/actor.

How to Wear a Pinkie Ring, by Stephen Lett, Governing Body Member
by Oubliette inalways the fashionista amongst the governing body members, mr. stephen lett recently showed us how even an older man can display a certain swagger, a certain je nesais quoi that says, "i'm one of the anointed, and you're not!".
he does this in so many ways, but the one i want to draw our attention to is the way he rocked the theocratic fashion world with his wearing of a very manly pinkie ring in a recent wtbts video.. - -.
stephen lett of the governing body of jehovah's witnesses demonstrating how to wear a pinkie ring.

They continue to drop like flies
by suavojr inyes, the jws continue to bleed their young ones, so far in my local kh 3 were dfd, one girl just turned 18 this month and packed her bags and said goodbye to the cult and her cultish parents, another young 18 year old man decided to have a non-jw girlfriend and decided to stop attending and is no longer a witness.
they continue to leave and wt leaders dont give a damn.
they dont do anything to help kids be successful and live a healthy life.. .

Wow. This rjharris is obviously over the top obsessed with race. His entire post is offensive and racist in and of itself. DOT is right in questioning the things this guy said.
He sounds like Eddie Murphy's character in Bowfinger who sees everything as some vast conspiracy to keep people of color down.
I'm not defending the wtbs and their lack of inclusion of people in pictures or positions of "power" but his hatred of white people seethes through his post in not so subtle wording.
It reads like he thinks that the guy who "snitched" on him shouldn't have done so because their shared "blackness" should supercede any and all other concerns or issues. NOBODY (white or black) should be turning in ANYBODY for ANYTHING to be honest...but that's another topic.
The wtbs is so wrong on so many levels who knows where to begin, but geez...such an intense obsession with race is disconcerting.
I've read less racially charged propoganda from black militants.
Not everyone is out to get you rj...or keep you down and destroy your heritage or culture.

Kingdom Hall Bomb
by Dr Jekyll inold news but uncle bruce wanted it dug up.... the guardian.
22nd july 1985.. man killed in blast.
at sydney service.. from richard yallop in melbourne.. one man was killed and 70 people were taken to hospital after a bomb exploded yesterday during a jehovah's witnesses service in a kingdom hall in the sydney suburb of lurnea.. the explosion occurred close to the speaker's dais just as mr. david winder, a visiting elder from the sydney suburb of prospect, had begun his address on loyalty to god and the family.

I recall the urban legend of a group of smurfs who burst into the hall singing christmas carols and moon walking down the center aisle of the kingdom hall. One unruly smurf kicked the speaker in the testicles and took over the mic and started singing white christmas solo. A group of brothers went to grab him but the smurf assumed a kung fu stance in defiance and they surrounded the little blue guy. He somehow scissor kicked his way out of it and joined hands with the other smurfs as they danced out of the hall.
When they got to the door they all turned around and mooned the stunned audience..then muttered obscenities loudly before slamming the door.
Those that looked out the kingdom hall window observed the smurfs riding into the sky in a christmas sleigh.

WT Doctrine, Population rather than Generation
by VM44 inthe watchtower has forced a rather strange interpretation of the word "generation" in order to keep their doctrinal beliefs concerning the year 1914 consistent with the words of jesus "this generation will not pass...".
however, the watchtower's "overlapping" definition of the word generation is strange and unnatural to common use.
according to the watchtower, a grandfather, son, and grandson all living at the same time would make up a single generation.

It doesn't matter. The "truth" to the hardcore members of the flock, is whatever the GB says it is. All the GB has to do is sell people that THEY are the ones chosen by God to lead his people on earth.
The fact that so many would believe that concept and be "sold" on it is mind boggling.

241 baptized? I'm sure they are either: 'born in's', 'mentally challenged', or doing it so they can marry a witness.
NOBODY that doesn't have family already in, or isn't "challenged" in some way...will get baptized. Not with the info available on-line now.

Expect more Crazy as JW.ORG trims the fat and fills the coffers.
by donuthole inwhen rutherford assumed the presidency of the watchtower society he instituted series of sweeping changes to the teachings and practices of the bible students.
some of these changes were at complete odds with what had been taught previously.
a key example was the elevation of the watchtower society as "god's visible organization on earth".

Question for believers in the Bible/God
by not bitter inmy question basically is - why believe?.
now as a non believer i find it hard to understand how anyone in their right mind can believe in the supernatural and more to the point, live their lives according to an old book.
not just christians obviously.. my intention is not to offend people.

The Bible? I can understand why you wouldn't want to live your life according to a book but it's obvious we...the universe...human emotions...love...hate...didn't just 'happen' by some random chance.

Scriptural Basis for Obedience to GB?
by mrhhome ini have a genuine question for the jw apologist.
.
what is your scriptural justification for your unquestioning obedience to the governing body and your unwillingness to question their intepretation of scripture?.
-
integ
It's easy. The GB doesn't even need to cite any scriptural references anymore. Nobody cares. They believe the GB is appointed by God (Jehovah) so anything they say is seen as coming from God....period.
They can say or do ANYTHING and it will be gobbled up w/out question as the RIGHT thing.
The devotion and unquestioning adherence to the "Organization" is at an all time high and the devotion only grows stronger with each passing day.
Some see through it and continue to go through the motions becuase of family etc. or just get out and make up excuses for not attending meetings etc. but MANY...the loyalists... are dependent on every word coming from the GB...and do not question ANYTHING.
It's sad, stupid, ignorant and whatever other word u wanna use but it is what it is....
The only thing that might cause a mass exodus is a MAJOR scandal of financial wrong doing...or a MAJOR sexual scandal of some kind that is irrefutable...and admitted to by the GB.

Why the Clean out of top Management
by Poztate init has been commented here that "soon" the do's will be history.
the co level will be "retired" at age 70 and the latest development was that the cobe can not serve after age 80. it would seem that there is a "cull" of top management.
in secular companys that would signal a radical change of directions ???.

WTS doesn't have the testicles to give people a free "out" of their org. Believe me, if they could legally do more to screw up your life for daring to leave on your own volition they would.
I challenge them to have the guts to give people a get out free card...with no shunning or anything else...and see what kind of numbers they could brag about then.

What has the WTS EVER "predicted" that has actually come true?
by integ inyou'd think they could point to something right?
obviously we're the one true religion".. i can't fathom how anyone of any intelligence would be willing to join up with this org after doing even rudimentary research.. for years they have taught that it's wrong to seek advanced education or to plan for a "worldly" future by trusting in this system of things and then this past sunday the watchtower article rips on people for not planning for the future in regard to their elderly relatives.
maybe if they hadn't been teaching for 100 yr's that the end was "just around the corner" and telling us we'd better believe that fact...or else, we would have planned better for a future that you said without reservation would not even occur.. what mind blowing prediction can they point to that would convince someone "oh yeah..these guys have it right"...?.
