at the international convention here i just got off the elevator with anthony morris.

he was heading to the basement and i was heading up to administration.

i rode one floor down with him before i went up to my destination.

Everytime I come here I get so ticked off..it prevents me from coming here sometimes cuz I don't wanna get upset.

I don't like to be critical, but these people are such blind idiots it literally makes my blood pressure rise.

How can so many be so damn stupid? Illogical?

Testimony card returns

old timers, or careful readers of the proclaimers book, are familiar with the "testimony card" used in the early days of rutherford-era door to door witnessing.

the jw would traipse up to a house, knock, hand the card over to the householder, and wait while he read it.. well, it seems that "everything old is new again".

here is an excerpt from a recent boe letter:.

Hah. I love it. They are now actively going out and doing more apostate work than anyone could ever dream of. Only a total idiot would simply go to jw.org , study the site and then get baptized without first googling and going to any or many of the innumerable other pages and sites that talk about the witnesses and their beliefs...and as an earlier poster mentioned, 99.99999% of them are basically anti jw.

How utterly asinine of the GB to think any truly interested one..that is someone of any intelligence..will simply stop at jw.org and say "Ok...i'm sold. When can I get baptized."

Are they so naive they think even non-witnesses will heed their direction and not visit any apostate web sites? Are they that nuts and delusional?

It's perfect. Each person that accepts the card and actually looks into this out of curiosity will not only go to jw.org...but also to the other sites as well that tell the real story.

They actually think their site is so convincing, and that householders in general so naive and simple that they will only go to their site?

Hahaha. This is priceless.

blasphemy against god by claiming they "speak for jehovah".

they said it again recently in an article..that they speak the words of jehovah and we should listen to those words.

The difference is the GB claiming THEIR WORDS are God's words...not their interpretation of scripture...which all religions do. It's like a TV evangelist who takes a scripture and then opines and what "God is saying here"...the GB claims what THEY personally and as a group are saying are coming from God...even seperate of scripture.

Whether God even exists as an entity that is concerned with our affairs in the first place is another topic. Just speaking here under the assumption that he does in this case...and how IF he does...as the witnesses say he does...there is no way to reconcile the GB saying they speak for Him...and then having to change His words because God was originally wrong. IF there is an infallible God as the GB says, then he doesn't change his thoughts or ideas. He's infallible after all.

From that standpoint strictly...it doesn't make any logical sense to believe the GB speaks for him as they claim. How do they not see this? How do the rank and file reconcile this in their minds?

Michael Sam Story on the ESPY'S. He was raised a JW.

michael sam...the football player who came out as gay, received an award on the espy's sports award show last night.

they had a video presentation documenting his struggles and it was brought out in the video piece that as a jehovah's witness, he was prohibited from playing in organized team sports...but that he went and defiantly played anyway.

so, sam not only had to overcome the gay issue but also that of being a witness.

Ok. So I guess this was already brought out here? Interesting you post the above about his mom, because he gave his mom big props during his speech, talking about her strength being a single mom and her support etc.

The GB is guilty of the ultimate spiritual crimes. Blasphemy against God by claiming they "speak for Jehovah". They said it again recently in an article..that they speak the words of Jehovah and we should listen to those words. Absolutely no humility and outright blasphemy. What is worse (from a religious or spiritual standpoint) than offending God directly by assuming to take over for Him?

What is shocking and incomprehensible is that all these brain dead zombies buy it all hook line and sinker.

It makes ZERO logical sense that they can say their words are coming from God but then admit that the words they have been saying need to be changed or altered.

WHY CAN'T THESE PEOPLE SEE THIS? By saying that... they are saying God was wrong and HE has to change something He said..and THEY are here to announce those changes.

So...God is NOT infallible...even though they say he IS...but he was wrong about this or that and had to change it....HOW CAN ANYONE BELIEVE THIS?

THIS kind of stuff is a way bigger sin then having a cigarette at lunch break.

both reopened mind and i are now in our early 60's and it seems our conversations lately have been on putting everything up for sale and buying a rv and travel until we can't anymore.

it has been a dream of ours for along time to see all the site's in the u.s. and canada.

we feel we could make money as we go by selling and teaching using herbs and gardening.

I get what he's doing. He fashions himself as some sort of performer. He is obsessed with enunciation and feels he has an impressive voice. He's trying to sound intelligent and put together...and it probably worked in impressing the powers that be who promoted him.
