I am starting to get bitter about this board...I know I have the choice to leave at any time...And I'm sure you all will be happy to know I will be exercising that option. I have tried to make insightful comments, behind the scenes reports (i still attend meetings sometimes for my families sake)..and generally tried to contribute. Nobody seems to give a shit about anything I say. I guess I am just THAT boring. I have bared my heart and soul on this board and asked for help and feedback on different things, and none has been forthcoming. I am starting to feel an affinity for scooby snax and other "moderates". (but not sword of jah, he's just too out there, and not what I would consider a moderate anyway). I have been beaten up by the jw religion, and I guess I was hoping that my opinion might actually matter to someone in this forum, or that I could make a connection with someone on here..But I guess I'll have to look elsewhere..Thanks to everyone that responded to my posts (very few)...I have been enlightened by a lot of the info I have learned as a result of this site.

questions for SwordOfJah and others like him
by SpiceItUp ini honestly want your answers to the following questions.
(i am trying to find out what jw's think on these things to determine what my parents may say in response if i ask them any of these)
question #1can individuals read & understand the bible alone, or do they need an organization and its publications to do so?

I'm starting to think that maybe Swordofjah is a fake. I think he is just saying this stuff to get a rise out of everyone...It is hard for me to believe that he "really" believes what he is saying. Any loyal witness would not be on this board in the first place. No less stay on the board and argue with apostates. He's made a number of posts, so it is not just a matter of just being curious or something. He is very skilled at hitting nerves on this forum. I think that is his intention. He is probably just as apostate as everyone else..Just playing a role. Anyway, it's just a theory.

Have You Ever Experienced God?
by Blueblades in.
with all the confusion between both camps when it comes to discussing god,the bible, and jesus, including the various doctrinal matters,a friend of mind told me none of it matters to him because he has evidence of god's existence through his personal experience with god.. when i asked him about it he said he couldn't explain it that i would have to experience it for myself.i told him it has never ever happened to me.. have you ever experienced god so that you could lay to rest all the why for's of things and just settle down and go on with the rest of your life and face death with confidence knowing beyond a doubt that you will be with god when you pass on.. blueblades

The experience of God has been described in depth by the great sges and avatars of history. In attempting to describe this "enlightened state" words have proved insufficient for most of these "masters". In my opinion, any true enlightened being has merely removed the obstacles that have blocked " the light" from shining forth in themselves. Once these layers have been removed, God is allowed to shine through and become manifest as the All knowing presence of existence, and this condition is indescribable, no words are needed, or do the condition justice. This "state" of enlightenment is a subjective state that can be achieved by any sincere spirtual seeker, and may occur at a moments notice. Meditation, just sitting in silence and connecting with what you truly are is a quicker pathway to the "real you" than contemplating the ridiculous postulations and errant reasonings of the watchtower. We ALL are destined to someday reach the enlightenment of God ,realized as our own Selves. The sooner we each individually reach this foregone conclusion, the sooner we can truly enjoy the complete and total happiness that is our true infinite inheritance. Now I have to get back to my Watchtower lesson.

Shunned at Jury Duty
by benext ini was called for jury duty recently.
i remember the days when the witnesses avoided this because of not wanting to "judge" people until "new light" made it ok to render this due to caesar.. i noticed a sister from my old cong.
area.

From what I understand, New light has made it acceptable to do jury duty it is a matter of conscience now. Just like voting. (wt 11/1/99 ?'s from readers). I brought up the voting thing to my jw cousin and he high and mightily said "Where did you hear that??" I said it's in the watchtower....apparently it's a matter of conscience now. I think he was excited that now he could do something he's always wanted to do, like have an opinion and be able to express himself in the voting booth....Although the article does'nt give carte blanche in this regard....It talks about it like being a conscience matter in places where feelings are high against those that don't vote. It just shows that the jw's will do whatever they are told by the fds without question, and most look for little loopholes in order to live as normal life as possible.

Before You Actually Stopped Meetings, How Many HATED Being There?
by minimus inwhen i listen to anything at the meetings, it is with a critical eye.
i really can't stand going, especially today.
did you feel that the meetings were grating and extremely irritating, just before you stopped going altogether?

I agree completely with what DIAMOND said. The meetings were more tolerable when I actually BELIEVED what they were saying, but since I've found the Truth about it, and began having doubts, the meetings have become excruciating. Imagine being asked to give a prayer at a book study after reading the comments on this, and other "apostate' sites. I now feel a personal responsibility to be as "true" to God as I can. Unlike others that just pray so as to take up time, and ask for blessings on the fds etc. I asked in the last prayer I gave that God's "true will" be made known to everyone, and that whatever He purposes come to be. Everyone said Amen. Probably happy I did'nt go on a 5 minute diatribe of concocted non-sense. I've stated before that I beleive that about 50 percent of the r and f don't want to be there. I still feel that's fairly accurate.

Should we discount the book of Revelation?
by Warrigal inconsidering that the apostle john wrote the book of revelation based on the visions that he saw while on the island of patmos, and since there was no second witness there to see what he saw, should we not consider the book of revelation in light of the wts requirement that there be 2 or more witnesses when an accusation is made?
he made accusations against and condemned religion, politics and commerce...where is his second witness?

When using Dr. David Hawkins' kinesiologic testing procedure, the book of Revelations calibrates (per the scale of human consiousness) at 75, which is below the critical level of 200 (anything below 200 is considered to be destructive). John calibrates at 70. You can find out more about this fascinating stuff in the book POWER VS. FORCE.

Jesus Leading the WTS?????
by integ ini was reading the isaiah book today, and came across the paragraph that states that jesus is the head of the organization.
jesus ate with sinners, jesus preached a gospel of love and forgiveness, not disfellowshipping.
to say that jesus is the head of the organization.

Paduan,
The only reason I ever read the books and mags is that I want to be able to expose to others (jw's) the lies their own organization tells them.

I was reading the Isaiah book today, and came across the paragraph that states that Jesus is the head of the organization. Jesus ate with sinners, Jesus preached a gospel of love and forgiveness, not disfellowshipping. To say that Jesus is the head of the organization.(wts) is outright blasphemy against Jesus. People who defend the wts say that disfellowshipping is a loving provision that really helps the "erring ones" by allowing them to recognize their mistake and turn back to Jehovah. If that's the case then what about the un-repentant Governing Body who refuse to admit their"sin" of being in cahoots with the Wild Beast (UN) for ten years. That shows a course of action, not just a one time mistake. When do we get to hear that THEY have been DF'D.? Oh, I forgot..New light will be presented soon to cover their pathetic asses on this one. JESUS DOES NOT LEAD THIS ORGANIZATION.
