My 16 year old mother gave me up for adoption, forced choice like we all can relate to.
I was adopted and raised as a Jehovah's Witness.
I spent many years searching for, and found my mother again at age 27. She wanted me to find her and we maintain a relationship now
She joined the Mormon Church.
In the interest of science only, how interesting is it that I was Jehovah's Witness and she was Mormon?
Something to think about isn't it?

14 years later- still a wreck! What's up with me!

which was a lovely thing to say, and made me feel 'valued' (thanks listener!).
but, you know, 14 years on, and there are times, when i feel like i just left.. i took the children to the pictures yesterday (to see 'wallace & grommit').

I agree with Blondie's advise, say "Hi". That is what I do. I have nothing to hide. I know who I am.
But I sympathize too. You are making the right choices by reaching out to posting sites like this one and not backing down from seeing the movie you wanted to see.

I wasn't even my choice...should it count?
by findingmyway ini can't help thinking that if i had never gotten baptized out of loyalty and fear of disappointing my parents (and fear of having my flesh eaten by birds of prey after being destroyed in armageddon), i would not be in this situation.
i have several family members and former friends who were raised as jws, but never got baptized, and they never have to experience the angst and pain that i have to experience.
i was baptized and never dedicated my life.

I am happy I am baptised as I made a dedication to the true God in my heart and soul, not to the organization. I still feel a loyalty to my promises to God.

Would you buy a new car on a 60 month loan?
by Elsewhere ini have never done a 60 month loan and i have sworn i never would... but with how much cars are costing these days i'm wondering if i will have to do a 60 month loan on my next car.
that is five frigg'in years!
i paid cash for my last car ($4,500 - 1999 ford contour se, used) so i had no payments to make.

I have an 11 year old Saturn, that I love!!!!!
It was financed with a 60 month loan and has been payment free for that last 6 years. I highly recommended Saturns. They are almost impossible to get used, so buy off the lot. They last forever!!!
When it comes time, I will certainly buy another Saturn.

Why is the month of October Special to JWs
by skin inwho else has been told that the month of october is a special month because in the past jehovah has fulfilled many prophecies in that month.. we have been told this twice in the last 2 book studies.. examples are: hand writing on the wall in daniels book happened on 5/6th october 539 bce, .
jesus was born in october 2 bce,.
kingdom rule started in october 1914, but the most interesting one is that ww1 started in october of that year.has anyone else been told this?.

I love all dogs.
I personally own a lab.
I had a pit puppy once, was told my home owner's insurance would go up from owning her, so I returned her, at 7 weeks to the breeder. She was really sweet.

Do the Witnesses Still Go Door to Door?

i don't really want any but here's the deal: i left "the truth" about fifteen years ago.
i wasn't disfellowshipped or anything and (since i moved to another state) it was a relatively clean break.

Unfortunately the WTBTS has led us to absolute conclusions. How very sad!
I still read the true Bible as often as my poor, imperfect personality can. Which is 4 to 5 times a week. I gain insite and wisdom still.
Don't be so judgemental. Jesus ransom sacrifice forgives our shortcomings.
