ok, if any of you have read the other thread about ghosts, you will remember that i dont care too much for them!
just a few minutes ago my daugter told me she had a weird one last night here in the house, where i have never had a problem.
she was in the bathroom brushing her teeth, and "one "of the holders on the counter that are all made of heavy glass, started shaking back and forth like crazy.
As you can tell by my screenname and avatar, I certainly believe in ghosts. Possibly there is a logical reason for this, but if you and your daughter were close to your Grandfather, who knows? My grandmother passed in 2001 and I feel she 'checks' on me periodically. Some unexplainable things have happened in my house, but I don't necessarily think it is 'haunted'. (Although I wish it was.)
Don't be afraid. If you lived in Michigan, I would certainly like to check your house out myself!
this is not jw related, but there's so many people on this board that give such excellent advice.. i divorced my first husband in 1989. he is the father of my two boys.
i remarried at the end of 1990 and moved away from my home town.
my ex has never ever tried to contact me and my children have not talked to their 'biological' father in almost 15 years.
BTW, Valis, THANKS!
I am contemplating travelling down to Texas to meet Country Girl. We've been talking on the phone quite a bit and I'm all jealous that it's like SPRING down there!

Yep. That's the big issue. Do I want to see or talk to this man again? I've talked to the boys about it in the past. The older one remembers how bad it was when me and his dad were married. The younger one does not. I don't think my older son is interested in seeing his bio-dad, but I think the younger one is. I think he's just afraid of how my husband and I will react, even though we have both told him it was his decision. He has not yet done anything to pursue this.
We've been happy as a family, although the road has gotten a bit bumpy (with the boys) in the last few years. That's why I'm so afraid to throw this into the 'mix'.
Thanks for the comments. I surely appreciate them.

My ex has never EVER tried to contact me and my children have not talked to their 'biological' father in almost 15 years. The boys have never really talked about it much and their step-father has been very good to them. Treated them as his own and never resented that we could not have any children together.
A few days ago, I was looking for some paperwork and ran across my divorce decree. Have not looked at it in years. It made me start thinking about all the back child support this man owes me. Close to $60,000. I am having some financial troubles right now and this money would surely come in handy.
My dilemna: should I pursue trying to find my first husband? I have no clue where he might be and no one else seems to know either. I do know his SS# and can contact the child support division in our state to start the process.
If he's poor and destitute, I won't pursue it any further. However, what if he's sitting on a mountain of money???
My husband does not know I am thinking about this.
every week these guys come to my door, hand me a couple loaves of homemade looking bread and a bag of beef jerky, then they invite me to a church service held in a community center with the promise of pizza and coffee.
i know that many churches do outreach work, but this goes above and beyond anything i've ever heard of before; especially since these guys look like they could use the food a lot more than i can.
natrually i'm intriged.
Uck! Another cult! There must be as many of them out there as "real" religions.
On a lighter note, here's a funny story for everyone. Down the road from me, there used to be a gun store/tanning salon. After all, this IS Michigan and the gun store owner put his extra space to use and put a tanning salon in the back room. Last summer, I noticed that the store had vacated. It was just a little store in a mini-mini mall. Later on in the fall, I noticed a sign that said "White Pines Methodist Church". I thought to myself, "This must be offices for the church or something similar." NO. It was the actual CHURCH! In the gun store/tanning salon space! To further my amusement, they thought someone in our house actually ATTENDED this church and dropped off some gourmet coffee and biscotti in a basket at our door and invited us to come back.
We ate the biscotti and we're working on trhe coffee.
The Gun Store Church. Like I said, only in Michigan.

i was reading another thread of the high # of defections within the org, and this lead me to question:.
when and if, do you think the org will totally ban jw's use of the internet?.
i think it will happen, they are starting to see a big drop and need to curtail it some how, and they know that many surf the web and come across sites like this, and once people discover all the coverups and the "new light" stuff and personal stories, their are going to be questions that lead to being df'd or da's.
I communicate with most of my family/friends via e-mail. I canNOT get my mother to even get a free e-mail account through Yahoo! She can use the library computers for free and I even went as far to set her up an e-mail address. She says "the society doesn't like us using the internet" and leaves it at that.
can you recommend anything.
i've already got pink floyd, queen, etc.
can you make some suggestions in the area of rock and electro?
Oh, Robert Plant. Damn that's some good stuff.....

I hear ya! I've seen that Mustang commercial like 4 times now. It was 'vaguely' funny the first time.
I'm still pissed that the Patriots beat the Colts! I'm distantly interested that perhaps the Eagles will win.........
