Just out of curiousity do you really believe that or is your comment a joke?
"i would speculate (the house) to be the prophets.
he was the dominant person, and he had the best, the biggest and the nicest, cain said while walking the property, which has since reverted to allegan county, records show.. one of the items cain found in the house: a new world translation of holy scriptures.
it was ragged, crumbling to dust at the corners.".

hello, lately in our local newspaper i've noticed a weekly column that is written by a current elder.
when i left 6 years ago he was the po.
and for some added background info , if he saw someone who was df'ed or "spiritually weak" he would go out of his way, and do his best to avoid them.
Man In Black's post is possibly the funniest thing I've read on this forum for a while.
My god that Elder sounds like a complete (hypocritical) dick, which paper is this from? I'd genuinely like to read more of his musings.
just found an interesting site containing old wt documents.. .
http://www.watchtowerwayback.org/.
bangalore.
Why promote a site that 95% of people here can't read?
Because there obviously will be people on here on JWnet who can read French and may find the site useful?

Why would you be shocked that an ex-Jw, such as myself, would turn atheist?
When I was leaving the org one thing I did was research the history of Bible. This research quickly proved the Bible to be no more than an arbitrarily compiled collection of unattributed mystically writings supposedly inspired by a long silent sky god who offers no other evidence whatsoever for his existence.
On the other hand there proved to be overwhelming evidence that evolution is a true demonstrable fact.
Faced with this, and the fact their is no rational reason to believe any other religion is true, what other choice had I other than to choose atheism?
it is still a wonderful discovery and pleasant surprise to continually keep finding that there are some awesomely *good* people out there in the "world"!.
it's such a neat thing, this (slow, yet very rewarding!
) process of making new, non-jw friends.... i recently had my first meal at the home of one of these new wonderful people we've just met and i just must share this!
Just ask those who are brave enough to start new businesses, despite Osama ObamaCare, to take care of needs (such as those building LED lightbulbs, sturdy and powerful flashlights, and chargers)
Sorry but I have to ask what the above comment actually means.
And as a non-American can someone explain what's so bad about Barack Obama wanting to improve healthcare provisions in the USA?
And comparing Barack Obama to Osama Bin Laden makes you sound stupid, maybe get some perspective?
do more service.
don't drink too much booze.
don't watch porn on your computer we know you still do.
"Don't buy that latest electronic device one of the elders wives might get jealous"
ReallY?
I think hoser was being sarcastic, and like most sarcasm it contains a degree of truth.
Agreeing with an above post that I really should start picking these things up again, if only to remind myself how dispicable this organisation is.

Proof of God's existence and that the JWs are his sole channel on Earth.
Obviously I'm never ever going back.
well the book they use to conduct bible studies is already showing its age, and just like the changes they made to the live forever book they are doing it to the bible teach book as well.
here is something i found on the kool aid site jw talk .
net:.
'Lost' said to be fair, like or loathe, the pictures are a fair representation of the world conditions today.
Really? The world is actually a safer, healthier and wealthier place that it has ever been at any time in recorded history. Maybe turn your TV off, stop reading Watchtower literature and try interacting with other human beings.
we know that wt has been inflating the hours spent for a long time so that their "growth" looks good on paper and for bragging rights.
here is a quote from the 2008 km:.
*** km 9/08 p. 3 question box ***.
How many hours are required to bring in one newly baptized publisher? Surely there is a mathmatical equation to be found given the statistics that are released.
I remember on jwfacts.com they used Yearbook stats work out that Witnesses logged around 5000 field service hours for each new baptism. If that's true then I don't really need to pass further comment do I?

I'm most definately an atheist simply because having finally 100% gotten over my JW indoctrination (took me 12 years) I decided to educate myself about the facts regarding 3 things:
01 - The scienctific understanding of the natural world
02 - The history and doctrines of the Watchtower Society
03 - Christian doctrine in general, though mostly evidence regarding the existence of Jesus and the supposed divine inspiration of the Bible
Within maybe 12 months I'd found there's more than enough evidence to prove evolution to be a fact, there is no tangible evidence that the Biblical Jesus ever existed and that the Bible is no more than an arbitrarily compiled collection of unattributed mystical writings of which all the original manuscripts are long lost.
I feel kind of bitter that I wasted so many years of my life as a Christian, a JW and an ex-JW believing something that was patently untrue (doubly so when you look at certain JW doctrine)
