The Bible and it's promise of Heaven and various other things

now in no way am i trying to discredit anyones beliefs or make fun, but once you get to heaven what is the plan once you get there.. of course, we always overlay extremely physical things upon the experience of heaven... milk and honey... ruiling over the earth etc... truthful the whole idea sounds so boring / mundane /monotonous.

spending all of eternity serving god by carry messages here and there?.

watching humans... i guess spending time with family that are also there and reminiscing.

I always thought the idea of going to heaven was so boring and the idea of living forever on Earth was one thing I initially found appealing about "the truth". Twenty years later I find the idea of eternal life on Earth boring, I mean waking up every morning knowing you'll be doing the same thing an infinite number of times over an infinite number of years. I doubt even Jehovah could find enough to occupy everyone for ever. How depressing when you stop and think about it.

The Bible is indeed utter drivel, badly writen drivel at that full of utterly absurd stories. The majority of said drivel being writen long after the events it supposedly records and collected in some cases millenia after it was writen. Realizing this was one of the happiest days of my life.

What would be the best decision if we took out all the religion out of the blood issue?

i am wondering this:.

what surgeries/procedures/situations have been shown to be life-or-death decisions without blood?.

i only know, currently, of trauma (car accident, gunshot wound, etc).... what would be treatable exclusively with "no blood fractions" and with "no procedures using my blood"?.

My sister almost died.

ever since i was a little boy i've been aware of this vague story about my older sister having some issues at birth, but never knew the details.. yesterday i was having a conversation with a much older cousin, who is a non-practicing jw about different watchtower issues.

while discussing the blood issue she totally came out with the story about my sister, which i never knew before.. when my sister was born some 40 years ago, my mother had the delivery at home with the help of a midwife.

i'm not entirely sure why this decision was made instead of going to a hospital.

Astonishing story that just goes to show how vile this cult is, good on your uncle.

Though non-JW related a similar thing happened with my younger sister and she doesn't know anything about the drama that unfolded when she was born. I wanted to tell her about it, however my couselor gently convinced me it wasn't for me to tell her.

Sorry but as an ex-JW it's hard to take anything regarding God, the Bible or the Watchtower seriously.

However as we can safely say that God does not exist, that the Bible is just a random bunch of semi-lost unattributed ancient mystical writings and the Watchtower is a vile high control cult I see no reason to worry about taking the p*** out of any of them.

A typical JW answer to this question will be something like:"Heavenly creatures don't have vaginas or penises."

"So, when annointed women go to heaven, their vaginas will be sewed up. Likewise, males will have their penises cut off... ouch (it hurts just thinking about it)..."

For some reason my favourite Bible verse comes to mind.

"If a man's testicles are crushed or his penis is cut off, he may not be admitted to the assembly of the LORD." Deuteronomy 23:1

How To Be Subversive While Knowing TTATT And Stuck Inside The Watchtower Corporation Confines?

so you found out it is all bs but due to family and friends you don't want to be disfellowshipped and shunned.

you have to go to these rediculous meetings maybe even engage in corporation sponsored magazine drives to get the propaganda into the homes of your neighbor in hopes of making another corporation zombie mystified by childish magical thinking, of a jealous deity that wants you to work for the corporation finacial interest or else die for your lack of corporation loyalty.. it is a stressful sitiuation with all kinds of trip wires one has to beware of in order not to be heading into some back room kangaroo court where obediance to the almighty corporation is the bottom line, and a fair hearing of the facts is last on the list of importance.. one consolation is that one may eventually get friends and family out of this demanding and destructive cult with patients and passage of time.. so what ideas would you like to pass on to readers?

what are some of subversive activities one can engage in while stuck in this nasty bit of mandatory corporation exercises of preaching, selling, and building?.
