Why are there still so many of humanity that are immersed onto the lies, ignorance and delusions of religion ?
by Finkelstein inall religions under critical examination has been recognized inherently as formative lies devised to appeal to human emotions and as a means to cultivate power and control for a select propagating few.
knowledge acquired through scientific inquiry and evaluation has proven that all religious adherence was mostly drawn out human ignorance targeted toward the emotions and consciousness of people.
here we are in the 21 century and people like the jws are still adhering to the lies of christianity and how this religion developed over time.

What is the biggest hypocrisy you have seen as a witness?
by HereIgo ini have far too many to name, but ill start with obscene music, gambling and cussing like a sailor.
all the while preaching to "worldly people" about their impending death at armageddon.

Taking food stamps and welfare but never helping in a food kitchen or assisting the needy in any way. Damn sure they watched all those people crossing the Brooklyn Bridge after the towers fell in 2001 and did NOTHING to help!

Sounds like the light that gets brighter and brighter may be going out completely! A fire deprived of oxygen cannot burn, let's continue to choke the air out of this group by spreading the real truth about the truth!

by NotAnointed ini just wanted to intoroduce myself.
i have been lurking for some time and finally decided to register and hopefully contribute to this great forum.. i am in my mid 30s and have never been in the truth.
my wife became a jw several years ago and since she is a (mostly) stay at home mom my two boys are also jws.

Hello and welcome NotAnointed. I too have noticed so many on here and on the Reddit forum that no longer believe in God at all. While I certainly don't believe in the same interpretation of God that JWs have, I have not converted to Atheism. Not sure what the root cause is. Interesting how one goes from believing so strongly they alone have the one true God to believing there is no God. Perhaps because as JW we were taught all other belief systems were false so we leave JW still holding to that belief. By the way I lived in Northern Ohio once what area are you from?

Heavy drinking st Bethel, GB members who wouldn't offer a greeting to me in return as I passed them in the halls, a married Elder who was having an affair with a teenager, and me, drinking excessively and smoking pot when I was appointed as a MS. I knew by then it was all false.

Hello
by UnshackleTheChains ini decided to join this forum as have been lurking awhile.
there are lots of interesting topics on here that appeal to me.. i have been a witness for almost 3 decades and am very disillusioned with the organisation at this time.
i am beginning to see it in a new light as i am getting older.

Welcome! I left 30 years ago and from what I have heard things have been lightened up all right! Less meetings, reduced thresholds for pioneering, cost cutting, seems like a business in survival mode! As far as new light is concerned, if the light is still getting brighter and brighter then the light must have been awfully dim when I was there!

Read that paradise lost book over and over when I was a toddler just learning to read. Those images are burned into my brain. I asked about the dog too and was told it was destroyed "because it was owned by a worldly person."

Did Crisis of Conscience find a market or did it lumber along until the copies ran out?
by TerryWalstrom incuriosity.i would think c of c was the grand-daddy of all the ex-jw books.is there any way to know for sure how many copies sold?
over what span of time before the 1st edition ended?
why did it peter out of print if it was a perennial seller?today, every tom, dick, and jasper has self-published the bleeding wound, 1st person singular, true confessional version of their own fall from grace.

I self-published last month (Separated From The Flock) on Kindle, and will have on Nook shortly. It's as much about making a life after the witnesses as it is about actually being one. I was astonished by the number of books, (mostly self-published), written by ex-witnesses. I'll check out your books soon.

where have the demons gone?
by aboveusonlysky indoes anybody remember some of the sensational demon stories jw's would tell back in the day?
i was a kid in the early 80's and i remember a few times hearing of people having real life encounters with demons.
for example, one sister claimed that before she became a jdub she would regularly talk to demons and they would even fix stuff like her washing machine!

I remember a story about demons on the ceiling while a couple lay frozen in their beds unable to move due to the demons power. I still think about it when I can't sleep and find myself staring at the ceiling.

Happiness and Freedom On A Paradise Earth?
by Disassociated Lady 2 inat a recent meeting there was a watchtower article about life in paradise.
they were saying that even when witnesses finally get there they will still be under the strict instructions from the elders and gb.
they may be given jobs that they will find unpleasant, also the preaching work will be ongoing because of all the resurrected people who need to learn about why they are given another chance.

Isn't it going to take 1000 years for the 8 million witnesses to take care of the 8 billion killed at Armageddon? That's 1000 dead people per one witness. The whole earth is going to stink!
