  The Holidays Are No Big Deal Anymore

  you used to hear christmas music blaring on every radio station.

  not anymore.

  people used to jam the roadways and malls to do their christmas shopping and now it’s no big deal.

  There is increasingly little interest in Christmas, at least here in South Florida. Fewer and fewer homes are decorated with lights.

  I think it is more about the shopping, gifts and time off from work.

  as jehovah’s witnesses, we were regularly told how awful a college education is.

  i’m no longer associated with the religion but i am not so pro university.

  it’s not because i think you are better off without a degree.

  One of my dual majors was mathematics as we have a reasonable comprehension of the concepts based upon your comments and education. Your teaching must be very rewarding yet extremely challenging at the primary and secondary levels.

  All of the richest people I know and have known never went to college. Millionaires by working hard and investing wisely.

  Obviously, you have never gone (never went?) to college based upon your comments and sentence structure.

  But I do agree, that in your hood, there can be a lot of pimps who are millionaires. Them thick gold chains ain't free.

  If you are smart academically, then higher education is an absolute plus, or in some cases, a necessity. If you want to be a doctor, pharmacist, CPA, lawyer, CEO, or other position, trying to do it without higher education will be difficult if not impossible.

  If you have some specific skill or trade such as a plumber, electrician, carpenter, or other trade, you can have your own business, no higher education, and still make a ton of money.

  But if you want to be a doctor or pharmacist, try to do it without higher education in the US. Maybe you could bluff your way through in a third world country.
