  a while back, we had a saturday wedding reception for a brother and sister from our kingdom hall.

  the reception ended at midnight.

  most of us got home at around 1:00 a.m. our sunday public talk meeting started at 9:30 a.m. .

  Covid-19 (Coronavirus) - Status Update Thread

  this topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.

  latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.

  the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

  Here in South Florida, there was a panic in our local grocery stores (especially Publix) here yesterday (Saturday). It was crazy. Today, I went to get some stuff for breakfast and things were stocked up (except toilet paper, paper towels and eggs).

  I guess everyone did their panic buying yesterday. Today, there were about 9 checkout lines open and 3 were empty. No waiting time!

  It all depends on how you dress.

  Getting from an A to a C would be no problem. Going from a C to an E or F would certainly draw some interest, or as we may say, "attention."

  But in most cases, if you don't flaunt it at the KH, I can't see how elders or anyone else can really have that much to say.

  If they call you into the back room and ask questions, just take your bra off, show them and wiggle a little bit. That will end any negative comments from the elders.

  What has been forged is not the content but the historicity as an object d'art, so to speak.
  It's like thinking you own a Dali painting - yet discovering what you possess is forged by another artist.

  I agree.

  But that "China" or "Made in China" sticker on the back of the scrolls raises some serious concerns regarding authenticity. Personally, if you peel the sticker off it may add more credibility to the underlying document.

  From what I saw in one of the recent letters to the elders, they will continue to have JC meetings but they will be virtual. The one before the committee will use emogies to show whether he/she is sincerely repentant.

  There will then be a form at the bottom of the screen where each elder gives a thumb up or a thumb down as to whether the person is DF'd or not.

  3 thumbs down and it is a DF

  2 thumbs down and it is a public reproof

  1 thumbs down and it is a private reproof

  3 thumbs up and the person is just encouraged to increase his/her spirituality.

  Pretty simple system.
