Zoom meetings to continue thru July

co is coming and expecting to zoom it in july.

also there is no talk about starting to slowly go back to the hall.

like having 1 group at the hall and the rest on zoom, etc.

I have already told several that I much prefer the Zoom meetings and at least they should consider it for the mid-week meeting. As I put it, "you have more time to prepare for the meetings and less time used for travel. And we still have the weekends to be with our brothers face to face."

Lol ... it sort of gets mixed reviews.

I am all for it, even though I may only make one mid-week meeting a month. I would actually "attend" more if it was on Zoom and I could have the camera (I generally turn it off now) on top of the TV and just smile a lot. When I see everyone else putting their heads down reading something, I just do the same.

Zoom could help me to become more spiritually strong in my meeting attendance while watching TV.

A Question: How About Praying for -or Including a Mention of - Covid-19 First Responders?

It really all depends on the tone.

I recall a dozen or so years ago at one of the annual meetings, that there had recently been a deadly typhoon or something (psunami?) that had affected many of the brothers in Asia.

During the prayer at the end of the meeting, the GB member (I can't recall which one) did mention the event, and said we are thankful for the help received from our brothers worldwide and the help that we are receiving from the agencies assisting in the disaster relief.

Of course the general tone was being thankful for the help "our brothers" are receiving and not the people in general but it was something I noted that you do not generally hear.

No particular name of any agency was mentioned but there was the recognition that outside support was coming in and we are thankful for it.

If a GB member or CO or strong elder in the congregation included things like that in a prayer, it would be acceptable. If a newer one or young MS repeated the exact same words there is the possibility that it could be brought to his attention. Maybe, maybe not.

Coronavirus outbreaks at any Bethels?

does anyone know of any covid-19 diagnoses within any bethels/branches/remote translation centers?.

it would be interesting to see what the gb's policy is when this happens.

i suppose it's bound to happen sooner or later..

I doubt it would be announced.

I would just find out who has suddenly been asked to serve where the need is greater and a pickup truck comes in the middle of the night to load all of their personal goods.

Why do Jehovah`s Witnesses Shun fellow believers When God and Jesus never shunned even Satan ?

scholars generally agree that it was written between the 7th and 4th centuries bce, with the 6th century bce as the most likely period for various reasons.

the book of job .. so according to jw`s about 6,000 years ago satan rebelled against jehovah god ,did jehovah disown him there and then shunning him ?.

apparently not as we can read from the book of job centuries later that satan could still come and go freely before the throne of jehovah in heaven .job 1: 6. and apparently he could still do this for centuries later ,that is coming to and fro before jehovah because according to the jw religion he wasn`t cast out of heaven for another 2,000 years until the 20th century .. now in the case of jesus much of what is said about jehovah and satan also applies to jesus before he came to earth.. but even when he was on earth he didn`t shun satan either in fact he allowed satan to lead him around according to the bible account.luke 4:13 so the devil having concluded all the temptations retired from him until another convenient time .so it wasn`t jesus calling the shots here it was satan .. mark 1: 13 he ,jesus, also shared 40 days in the wilderness with satan letting him tempt him .. so their was no way either jehovah or jesus ever shunned satan the devil according to the bible writings.. and when jesus ascended to heaven after his sacrifice he along with his father jehovah still had association with satan the devil until he was cast out of heaven 2,000 years later ,according to the jw`s..

Satan was never baptized so they don’t have to shun him.

That may be true, but without mentioning him by name, they likely gave a talk on the dangers of associating with those who practice wrongdoing even if not baptized.

Ever wonder how to be "saved" as a JW?

just do all 26 things, and you too can be saved!.

Salvation currently depends on (or really helps) setting up a nice fat electronic bank withdrawal / contribution to the local KH. Inquiring on how to also make electronic contributions directly to Headquarters is a huge plus.

You will be put into the Salvation Express Line.

some cities require masks and have shut down parks and sports playing while others in a nearby town have no such restrictions.

Simple answer:

The shunning thing was primarily in Paul's writings, such as 1 Corinthians.

That was after the time of Jesus.

Jesus was not aware of the Noo Light while he was on earth. When Paul wrote the article, Jesus had already left and went back to Heaven.

I heard something similar, taking to some family friends from NY City.

I just commented that before the GT starts, the UN has to take worldwide power, all false religion will be destroyed, the nations will see that only JW's are left, then Gog (the Magog guy) will focus their attack on JW's. Then at that point, the GT will start.

I was on the phone and it got rather quiet. The only comment he made was, "we'll have to wait and see."

It works, believe me. I'm sure some people were smiling when I have gone to the food store when I wear mine. Problem is that it is hard to see any reactions since other people are wearing masks too ... lol.
