WTS Addresses Child Abuse - er, kind of...
by iiz2cool inmy wife, who is intent on re-activating herself as a dub since i da'd myself, went to the convention this past weekend.
she showed me this new publication entitled "learn from the great teacher", and placed great emphasis on these two pages i scanned and am posting.
it makes a poor show of telling children what to do when confronted by a child abuser.

Even though SoJ is an utterly annoying twit, she/he makes a very good observation: whatever the Society does or prints, some "apostate" will find fault with it! They're in a "lose-lose" situation!
I didn't know the WTS was in the business of attempting to please "apostates".

Are They Losing the Old, Too?
by metatron ini was quite surprized when a relative of mine needed a ride to the district assembly and couldn't find one.. what surprized me was two older sisters, who have been utterly faithful over the years, separately said they aren't going.. we already know the watchtower is losing witness kids enmasse but this looks unusual.
what's left for old-timers anyway?
all the urgent depth of doctrine is gone - the society can't defend anything.

In my experience, if a pub could not count her time when visiting an infirm elderly person, she wouldn't go.

How is this child going feel when God does not save her, or does not "undo" what Satan has done? In a child's mind, God "saving" and "undoing" may likely mean direct divine intervention. When that doesn't happen, then what?

Are you SLOW to anger?
by JH inare you like me, a good guy, and very very slow to anger?
but then comes a time to explode when you get really mad, right?.
do you think that some people abuse of you because you are gentle?
-
berylblue
Have you been walked all over because you were good to others
Absolutely, and I hate that my gentleness is perceived as weakness. It always comes as a shock to others when I finally do blow up, because they thought I would take their crap forever and because they thought "I didn't have it in me".
Not the best way to operate; cost me my daughters. Probably more fair and kind to tell others in a calm, respectful way that they are hurting or taking advantage of you right from the start. A person can be too patient - to everyone's detriment.

All depression sufferers (past/present) please read
by WildHorses ini went to my dr. today because my blood pressure was really high.
156/106 and my meds weren't helping to lower it.
can you get over depression without meds?
-
berylblue
but a four-month dose of depression medicine kicked me out of it.
Good point, Alan. Some persons will only need an antidepressant for a very short while; others, like your wife and myself, possibly "forever".
