I've heard the critics pan it. But I still want to go see it.

Why do JW's shun people, then after they die say .............. ??????
by run dont walk in.
well, only god knows their heart, it is not for us to judge the person.. a family member died recently, and was never a jw, (only smart one in the bunch, and me of course).. well, someone had the nerve to say the above comment, no one ever invited him over, or visited him,had any real connection with him.
but after he dies ............... well, you get the picture.

have had JWs say that to me as well. My response, "Well, if that is true then instead of going door to door talking to people, we should be killing them, or better yet planting bombs at the malls so we could guarantee that more people would be resurrected into the new system rather than die at Armageddon. That's about how crazy your comment sounds."
Blondie
I used to say the same thing. "Why not kill them now??? It would be the loving thing to do."

schizophrenia .......sound like anybody you know?
by gumby ini think most people are unfamiliar with why certain people behave the way they do.
most people lable those who are quite different as the rest as nutty, strange, plain nuts.
(i'm guilty as the rest)

When you are admitted to the psych hospital, the "questions" you are asked (to determine a quick pcyhotic DX) are hilarious - if you are NOT psychotic:
Does God talk to you?
Does God have a special plan for you?
Do you think others are out to get you?
Do you hear voices?
Can you predict the future?
I am guilty of making jokes about persons here who apparently can answer these questions in the affirmative; I should know better. Normally, in a psych ward setting, the psychotic/schizophrenic patients are not put on the same floor or unit as the depressed/suicidal patients because they can be too much to deal with for a person grappling with wanting to live in the first place. Only one time was I ever with a paranoid schizophrenic and, quite frankly, the rest of us were afraid of setting him off every time we spoke to him.
Thanks for the reminder. I, of all people, should know better.
(However, if there's a great one-liner to be made, all bets are off.)

To Those With Ears to Hear...
by AGuest into that he said, "the reply is not yours to make; it is mine.
his reply was that, "have i not told them?
so, then i asked how it was that i was speaking directly to the father, and not to the son, as i usually do.

And then I'll reject them, because they rejected God's word. It will be too late.
So I'm here just taking notes.
That's really considerate of you. It's R-O-S-E-M-A-R-I-E; please don't spell it "Rosemary", or God will nuke my poor undeservng cousin instead.

I understand Zyprexa is an extremely effective anti-psychotic and doesn't seem to cause tardive dyskenesia the way Thorazine does.
Ask your doctor if it's right for you.

Coincidentally, I received my copy of ISoCF yesterday; I read this (as well as other nightmarish DF tales).
Although I've only skimmed ISoCF, I told my partner that this book is even more upsetting than CoC. Of course, I haven't read the conclusion yet; gee, I wonder what happens.

I had thought I had gotten over all this crap.
by pamkw inthis has been a very bad couple of weeks for me.
i thought i was having a fairly okay relationship with my mother, and even though she was not happy with me not being a jw anymore, she seemed to live with it.
i have even recently been able to have conversations with my jw younger sister and not come away angry.

Just hang in there, okay, Pam?
