Okay, I have heard mention here a couple of times about how JW's are not supposed to drive a two door car. Whats up with that? Last place I read it was the stupid rules topic some one posted(which was very entertaining by the way) I am really curious what the reasons for all those stupid rules are for?

Alot of folks here use abbreviations. Some are easy to pick up. I have used some too. Like jw or dub. But some times I can't figure them out. Can somebody fill me in on some of them. Also, when first reading about Jehovahs' witnesses, I read some thing that said the use alot of buzz words that help them identify each other. What are some of those?

Everlasting life?
by DanTheMan inmaybe i dreamed this, but i swear that there was a wt article sometime in 2001 that, in discussing john 17:3, made some mysterious (mysterious in light of their long-time teaching on this issue) that the greek word translated "everlasting" had different shades of meaning, that it may have referred to "quality, not quantity".
in other words, knowing jah and the one he sent forth would result in an abundance of quality life, not necessarily endless life in the chronological sense.
i was in such a wt mental stupor at the time that i didn't think much of it, but now that i think about it, it seems that this may have been the very first teeny little baby step in a gradual and huge doctrinal shift.. then again, maybe i dreamed this.

Double edge
So then Eternal Life would equate to some thing like life with God? Sounds like a good study. Eternal, everlasting, any other phrases? -

Extacy came from Texas. In the 80's you could buy it out of vending machines around Austin. It was mostly perscribed to couples having marital problems.

Help a lurking dub with doubts
by undercover ini've been lurking about, checking out some of the evidence against the wtbs.
i am currently inactive but still an approved/baptized member.
i have seen all the 1914/607bce evidence; the blood transfusion quandry evidence; the current child abuse problem evidence and several other things that are damning to the wt doctrines.

I have a relative that had a very bad car accident. during the trauma, he clinicly died. During this time, he described floating above his body seeing the hospital workers try to revive him. Then he tells of a tunnel that transported him before a two large doors. As he stood in front of the doors, they opened. A light he said that is completely indescribeble to any one on earth shined out. He said it was the most beautiful thing you could possible see. this light passed through his body. A voice told him it was not yet his turn, that he needed to return. he said he traveled back through the tunnel and was once again above the hospital workers reviving his body. Then he felt the physical pain from his injuries and opened his eyes. It took him over a year to walk again. How do you describe this if the soul is dead at death? How do you describe spirits of loved ones returning to places they once lived? One of the first things you learn in Chemistry is that you can not create or destroy energy. Why is it that a human body loses a fraction of wieght at the moment brain waves stop?
