How has the org changed you emotionally?
by obiwan ini'm just wondering how everyone was changed by the wts emotionally.
i find that after going through being df'd and the shunning, the general loss of everything that i'm much harder, i give people less sympathy than i used to, things that are seriuos such as deaths and the like just don't move me much.
i feel desensitized, sorta detached i let so much just roll off my back than i used to.

Obiwan,
Be careful not to confuse the process of maturing (ie the wisdom that comes with experience) that allow you to mellow your reactions, and pick your battles. It may not all be emotional hardness but a combination of lessions learned and resilliance to changing situations.

One thought struck me as I read this thread thunder
If you have central AC/Heating and the watch has fallen into a vent then the alarm
will sound almost equally in every room connected to that duct.

Friendly suggestion,
This might be safer and more appropriate using the private message system on this board.
Just a suggestion.

'You cant blame God for the mistakes his Org. makes!'
by Hamas ini had a discussion with an 'associate' i used to know back in my meeting days last night.
he really did show what it means to be a brainwashed victim of the watchtower.
i told him about false prophecies, and how the wt claims to be a true prophet of god.

One question might be:
Then why does "his" organization blame its members for mistakes that
"his" organization made?
Might be a bit over the top.

Welcome to the board Ron.
Fair warning though. There seems to be a temporal disturbance on this board.
After reading the new posts one will look up and see that what seems like only a
few minutes has warped into several hours.

Preview of my new novel
by SYN inthis is only the first few paragraphs of it, as a sort of a teaser .
<schnip>.
nobody realizes who russell truly is until they've spent a night in his company.

SYN!!
Great style and flow. I can hardly wait for more samples.
Just one thing that tripped me up a bit.
"One day they'll make a movie about us two, you know," I hear from behind me later that afternoon. Russell's sparse frame stretches ahead of me like a Japanese devil, all shadow and no substance, powered by the falling sun.
When walking from NY to the west coast in the afternoon, a person behind you would not cast a shadow ahead of you because the sun would be in front of you heading toward sunset in the west.
Great visuals though.
Regards,

What aspect of freedom from the borg do you love the most??????????
by BLISSISIGNORANCE inwe all had personal reasons for becoming jws and we have all left for just as many different reasons.. but i'm really interested in what types of freedom people have found and are enjoying since fleeing from the wts cult.. for me the greatest sense of freedom has been in the way i live my life with my family.
now we are able to 'be free' (in reality we were always free, we just didn't know it because we empowered men and they controlled us) with our time and energy.
we associate with a variety of different people, we sleep in, we garden, we just do nothing, we read books that have nothing to do with the wts, we relax on tues. and thurs.
