  other than the protests of the tree huggers, i can see no reason [outside of current political thinking] for us not to get this resource working to both 'stimulate' our own economy and to short-sheet the arab greed that holds us ransom.. i am no geo-scientist, but this seem unbelievable.. jeff.

  As a student of the geo-sciences here is my 2 cents.

  The oil is continuous through the geological formation, not collected in easily exploited pockets. This make recovery inherently harder and more expensive. Next a geological formation could span the a significant part of the state. (Think of a cubic yard of rocks in a pile versus 5 cubic yards of rock scattered over an acre. There might be more rocks on the acre of land but how much more work and time will it be to fill a wheel-barrel from each source.)

  I do agree with you that one of the major reasons the economy stalled was the price of energy.

  i used to pride myself in my knowledge of different watchtower society info, especially organization procedure.

  so i always enjoyed digging into facts.

  Got myself under the microscope when I tried to apply what I had learned in college geo-sciences to some pseudo-science being published by the WT$ in the 80's.

  "You must not add to what the FDS has provided."

  "But their science is off on a few points."

  "Patience, Jehovah will provide the information at the proper time."

  damn...this economy sucks.

  its making me crazy.

  i work for sams club and being as its a part of walmart and walmart is almost recession proof, you wouldnt think id be worried about my job going away.

  I've got pneumonia

  after a week-long battle of what i thought was a bad case of upper respiratory infection, i decided to get checked out by my doctor.

  after a chest x-ray, it's confirmed that i have pneumonia.

  i feel horrible.

  Had it (age 27); knocked the crap out of me, and I was glad I was in shape.

  Rest, take ALL the antibiotics, do not over-exert yourself and keep hydrated.

  Did You See Joaquin Phoenix On Letterman???

  go to you tube and it'll come right up if you haven't seen it.

  for 10 long minutes letterman tries to interview phoenix but cannot get anything out of him!

  this is either a gag or phoenix is just like his other brother river who died from drugs.. what a contrast between that interview and craig fergerson and robin williams on last week.

  As a JW Did you Feel you Could Fully Trust the Elders ?

  i know for many of the 44 years i was in the jw cult from birth - i felt i could.

  or should i say i was conditioned to feel that " i should " trust the elders.

  as jehovah's witnesses we were all told the elders were " crags in a waterless country " who would be a " spiritual stronghold " for us.
