Unmarried and pregnant by JW

my boyfriend was a jw for most of his life, he is no longer participating in the religion.

we are not married and i'm now pregnant.

does any one know and can advise me what i can expect from his parents once they find out?

His parents are still very devoted JW. I don't have a relationship with them since they like to pretend that I don't exist and I'm not part of their son's life.

Welcome to the forum, Valrose. I'm sorry to hear how the parents have treated you up till now. Do you think circumstances will change when they find out their son has been dating you. Every situation is different, depending on how liberal the parents are with the religion. The pregnancy could change things, if the parents had feelings for their son's baby. What does the boyfriend think of the whole situation?

The boy might want to marry you.
The boy might want to support you as a single mom.
The boy might deny being the father.
The parents might want to help you as a couple.
The parents might want to take the baby away from you. The parents could go into denial about the whole preganancy and claim it's not their son's baby.
You may choose to abort.
You may choose to keep the baby and raise it alone.
Talk to your family doctor about getting some counselling from a reputable therapist who will help you choose what is best for YOU.

You have all kinds of choices. I say choose what is best for you, personally.

I'm sooooo angry

hell guys its nearly four in the morning and i can't sleep.

i'm just so annoyed!.

at work this evening i was called to talk to an customer outside one of the screens (for those of you who don't know i work in a multiplex cinema).

She shouted; do you realise that soon every child in this country will be bi-sexual?' I swear thats what she said! She went on shout that children were having to watch this kind of thing, and that she has done reasearch to prove that this 'forces' children to have bisexual and homosexual experiences. . . . My beautiful, cheerful, happy girl is a lesbian; she told me when she was just short of her 16th birthday. I cannot believe how many biggots there are out there! And was furious that this woman is bragging about her teaching qualifications, yet showing such outrageous homophobic attitude! . . . Thank god she isn't teaching my children!

Shell, when I first read this I laughed. Then I thought, sheesh, its scary to think she is teaching anyone's children!

Keep breathing! And let her go. She's not worth the energy.

Well I did it, sort of.

Hey momz . . . great work! Sometimes an enabler gets a wakeup call when their illusion gets cracked open by too much reality. Perhaps this is an opportunity for mom to take charge of her own life now and stop being an enabler.

Just talked to Witnesses at my door for Hour about Watchtower Child Abuse

it happened again like in july when i talked to an elder and his wife about child abuse, but this time i got a hold of rank and file members who fortunately i was able to play like a fiddle as they had no idea what they were up against here.

so brother middle age ex-hippie convert ( as he told me later ) and sister middle age hair in a bun offered me the awake on death or our view of death.

i graciously accepted gaining their trust saying yes, i had close loved ones who had died over the years but didn't know if i believed in a resurrection or hereafter.

It appears to me that you find yourself in an ideal situation where your comments could be listened to without fear by a jw adherent---having never been in the religion yourself, plus having relatives who are jws.

I had relatives who were witnesses, but I was never in it. And I told them when I talked with their presiding overseer at my doorstep in July, he had no idea about the child abuse scandal either ! And said the society had no plans to inform rank and file members about it, or no announcements to be made. So, that was it, I took their Awake, and I placed a news release with them and gave them very important things to think about in regards to " cult information mind control ". Interestingly enough, they were really paying attention when I talked with them about having the freedom of choice to be informed by the media, and the fact that they have not been allowed to hear about this from their superiors . I could tell they were really listening and pondering. So another 2 JW's informed. It made my day, and I hope they do something with the information I gave them.

This is wonderful news! Indeed another 2 jws informed. This makes my day, too!

the sanctioned wtb&ts mode of reading and application - "making the truth your own" - is contrary to the gathering of correct information and deciding for myself how to use it: to better myself and to assist my fellow man.

Having Phobias : Negative Images Keep People Cult Controlled- By Hassan

hey folks.

i have been busy reading steve hassan's book, " combatting cult mind control " and just wanted to share several thoughts now that i'm about 25% through the book.

it has been a real eye opener of how the power of a cult like the " jehovah's witnesses works.. one thing he mentioned is that in cults, " members are systematically made to feel phobic about ever leaving the group .

I was love bombing a young and ardent "newbie" Bible student at the hall. My love bombing, however, was from our JWD standpoint [I was already on my way out but still attending meetings]. I was telling him to take it slow and easy and ask lots of questions, all the while essentially acting the role of a JW. He was having problems at home and stopped attending prior to my own exit forever.

Anyone else here with ADD/ADHD?

i have had this problem all my life.

i have a child that also has it.

since people with adhd have a problem fitting into organizations do you think it may be one of the reasons why you just couldn't take the jw's any more.

much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.

however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.

I know something about how you feel. I left the cult eight years ago, and my kids are still in it. I have no relationship with them as a result. They are among the "speechless ones".

Sad thing is they feel they need to be a jw to be at peace with God.
