Special Assembly: CO admits the grip is tightning.....

even though im out i still try to keep up with what is being said just cause i find it interesting, and alot of stuff i find funny, but this stuff is starting to get scary, and i fear for my friends who are still in.

Elder knocks on my door... couldn't see who it was and I opened it...
by Soldier77 inso an elder came to my door the other day in field circus.
i looked through the peephole to see who it was, but the way the door is situated against the sky in the background i couldn't see anything but a silhouette.
not to mention he was standing off to the side so to make it hard for anyone to see who was knocking.. so i open the door thinking it was my friend since he is the only jw that knows where i live.

This was my experience. Initial kindness could translate as Theocratic Warfare. Loyalty to the borg first. Always, even if they get slapped first. If suddenly three elders are standing at your door you will know it is a Judicial Committee coming to judge you.
Soldier, I would like to see you healed from the traumas the organization has put you through. It would be nice if the elder was truly sincere and trying to help. But, I think like some others here, that he might be trying to bolster his own case.
I sincerely hope I am wrong in your case.

my parents made us tell people tha we got gifts throughout the year and that we probably got more presents than kids get on birthdays and christmas.
however, it was a complete lie.

My first semester at college was a sucess!!
by noni1974 ini got my grades today.
i ended up with a 3.57 gpa and i'm able to join phi beta kappa, which is the honnors society at my school.
not to bad for an ex jw that never graduated from high school.

Another Bad Witness - Elder School on Christmas Day?
by LostGeneration inhad a brief conversation with by jw father a few days ago, unfortunately still an uber witness and as a cboe he has nothing else in his life.. he brought out that he was getting ready for the elders school.
not sure if he was bragging or wanted sympathy for having to go.
lol.. i didn't press him on the details, though i wanted to ask if they would be covering all 7 chapters in the new manual on how to df people.

Please reccommend older Watchtower publciations for stumbling purposes
by TheStumbler infirst time poster here but i've been lurking a while.. i have a question that i was hoping some of the watchtower historians might be able to answer.
if a witness was willing to read some of the organisation's older publications, what books would you get them to read and how do i get these books?.
my family are witnesses and my father is an elder.

Stumbler, what a great thread! Welcome to the forum!
I've been doing a bit of reading (Crises of Conscience, Alan Feubacher, and some of these forums). Any way, my dad and I were talking about religion a few days ago and I couldnt believe I had a better grasp of some topics than he did.
Of course you would have a better grasp than your father. You have been educating yourself. Your father rehashes the same old stuff that the organization feeds its flock, day after day, month after month and year after year. Only when the organization gets caught in another scam does it change its wording, declaring it to be "new light."

Sorry for the late response, but I don't log in to this forum much lately.
I have started a blog...
I use my blog to write and heal from the past abuses of the JWs. I want the world to know what that religion is capable of in the name of gawd. Keep in mind that some people write to heal, and other people do not like to write.
